  1. Those of us out of the know...would like to know...what happened arob..I feel like a Dentist pulling teeth.

576 im in no position to discuss the things that actually happened due to it didn't happen to me personally...however if the person or person's family wanted to put it out there it would be up to them I don't want to cause any conflict with management or that person thats out of respect.but I'll say I was very disappointed

  2. I am new, 51 yr old rookie but I am putting a super stock together for 2014. Why cant the ss cars form there own association and all the tracks allow themto run under that , this may not be the answer but if we dont stick together none of us will have a place to race. I grew up in cc. But not now and I will have to travel to all 4 tracks to race .

kellyracing111 I like how ur thinking I had the same thought but there's currently a series and they run on dirt and ive read that theres talks about adding some asphalt track to there series and didnt want to infringe on there series...however its something to discuss if anyone's interested

  3. I say like all of the rest of the drivers adoped the hole thing but its not up to me right now.i feel like when I show to sas I have a chance.we will I've said everything at cts.hope this all works out.if you never got to race long horn speedway that track was fun.i would mov e to sport modsd. but come on 8500. for a motor.way to much.

also Houston saying we need to add even more weight because of our engines didn't see the 31 in cts

John atleast with the sport mods the rules are all the same and you can go and run anywhere any surface with adjustments and still be competitive TALMS has proven that..and with that my rambling/complaing comes to an end...I've said everything that I wanted and feel and I want to thank everyone who has replied on this hijacked post...lets see if anyone was reading this..see y'all Saturday night!!

  4. FISHING IS THE ANSWER. BUT I PREFER CATCHING. RACING IS FUN. BUT WINNING IS BETTER. NO WATER IN OUR LAKE RIGHT NOW SO RACING IS THE ONLY OPTION.

    BOBBY JACK

lol Bobby but fishing can be just as expensive as racing I knw first hand I got about five grand hanging on the wall and one ttournament trip would cost 1500 bucks and you have to be extremely lucky to even brake even

and again john thank you for your honesty

  6. agreed but the rules were changed at the beginning of this season due to we were told if we change this and level the playing field the out of town guys would show did that happen nope then at mid season we were asked to add the weight penalties of sas and 8 cars would come run with.us and they still haven't shown up..Abel puts out an invite did they show nope...so what does ccs need to do to get them to come run with us I understand that some cant come every week that we run but we go and support yalls tracks it should be a two way street not a one way..im building a super and trying my hardest to keep this class alive here at ccs

  7. haven't been able to hit the 14,s any more tried a bunch of stuff.just haven't hit on it yet.about 2 tenths.with the more weight less left.mybe older driver.

lol thank you for being honest john im sure its not the driver...so what do you think john and be honest adopt the entire sas rule package and work with both tracks sas and cts or go back to where we were before this season

  8. OK , since I kinda started this I really didn't mean to turn this into a bash session.Sorry bout that.On the topic of turning cars away, that should NEVER happen. The easiest way to remedy a difference in the rules is add weight to the car or if this is his/her first time at the track let him run as is then tell him what needs to be done.Heck pay his pit pass that may be all that is needed to keep a racer happy if you have to DQ him/her. But NEVER turn one away.It is no secret I'm a STS guy. But CCS was in my life for 40 years before STS came along and the history of CCS cannot be denied. And I bet a lot of the STS racers feel the same.I think Corpus has a golden opportunity here. There are enough racers here have two tracks.Personally I'd love to see a combined points system between the two tracks. Both seem to be able to get sponsers for their events.I think it would be a win - win for both tracks and especially the fans.Having said that I know that is kinda a dream.I am just a fan, not a racer. It is no secret STS is the big dog in Corpus and I'm don't see any reason why they would want to help CCS.But a ton of racers in Corpus has so many great memories and stories to tell about CCS.It would be a shame to see CCS join the list of dead tracks.I know I am talking out of the heart and not real world. In other words CCS should try to work with STS and forget about the others.

arob your not the only one that started this rambling I have a strong hand in it as well...and ur openion should be thought about however this same statement has been mentioned in the past with little success..and this should be an eye opener due to the fact that there's over 5000 views on this topic that had gotten hijacked by our rambling and a 100 replies

  9. Josh i agree, there is a lot of conflict at all tracks that happen with a middle man....

That's my point, ever one involved should get together and talk face to face.... all the he said she said stuff isn't helping anyone.....

agreed and look at the success of TALMS communication is one if the keys to their success and awesome promoting not taking anything from Abel he's been busting his ass with little to show for it

  10. It would be great if CCS, CTS, and SAS could get on the same rule package and become sister tracks for next year. CTS and SAS seem to have that going on now. It would be in CC Speedway Managements best interest to try to jump in with them. But that's just my humble opinion.

again this would solve majority of the problems with some of the local drivers

  11. im not bashing im try to figure this out ...taking a part of something and meshing it with another doesn't seem to be working y'all lost cars instead of gained and when a car shows up that doesn't quite fit the rules let them run and not turn them away you got their families and friends sitting in the stands expecting to see them race it never looks good when you see a car pulling out the gate instead of in and thats my jmo I want the best for ccs

  12. I just wanna see the track successful like it was when I was a kid. Not a single spot open in the pits and the stands full with people parking in the back 40 to get in. My car hasn't been to CC in a while because of rules problems but we are working on that. Still supporting in the stands and SAS and CTS when they race too. Just my 2 cents worth even though I don't have a super/street stock.

same here if you didn't get to the track at 5:30 and waited till 6:30 you'd be lucky to find a decent seat and parking spot boy those were some good ol days of action packed racing

  13. It would be great if CCS, CTS, and SAS could get on the same rule package and become sister tracks for next year. CTS and SAS seem to have that going on now. It would be in CC Speedway Managements best interest to try to jump in with them. But that's just my humble opinion.

I agree so much ,, Then don't let a street stock / super street car get out of the parking lot when they show up ,,, DONT TURN CARS AWAY ... there are 6 more cars in corpus that will race then there may be 13 Make that adjustment to cars that need it let them race , they will bring pit crew etc $$$$$ will be there that they will spend at the track and that's my humble opinion too , Douglas LeStourgeon, thanks

agreed we can't afford to turn anyone away!!!

  14. It would be great if CCS, CTS, and SAS could get on the same rule package and become sister tracks for next year. CTS and SAS seem to have that going on now. It would be in CC Speedway Managements best interest to try to jump in with them. But that's just my humble opinion.

and again I agree Cody hopefully we can get these rules ironed out it going to take some give and take and I hope ccs management and drivers understand that

  15. I have noticed every track in South Texas is struggling with Street/Super Stocks , even Houston.

Im sure someone will take this as a complaint, but let me say now that it is simply an observation.

It is kind of difficult for racers from CCS to frequent CTS or SAS, or drivers from HMP to frequent CTS, CCS, or SAS or any variation you want when the cars vary due to track specific rules. I am only speaking of the "street", "hobby" or "super" stock type classes. After walking thru the pits at CCS this weekend it apparent the rules are different. I am fairly sure these guys, no matter the track, run on a less then phenomenal budget so making the changes required are not high on the priority list.

Face it, many of the people in these classes are the local people who barely scrape up enough to bring a whole car to the track, much less haul it 75 - 150 miles away. As a racer myself, I cant see traveling that far just to make someone elses car count go up knowing Im bringing a spork to a gun fight. Id like to have a shot at a win just like anyone.

All this is just my observation, and to acknowledge arob's point, all tracks are having issues. Its just the situation we have been dealt with the decisions made in the past.

I find it hard to blame the rule differences between the tracks that would keep racers from coming in the supers.. when there's only three which are non stock fire wall-motor options and wheel base 108 +or- 1inch everything else is the same..our drivers have traveled to both tracks and done quite well...also not only did our drivers go to these tracks some of our fans went aswell...yes there's differences but im sure if ppl came forward and with actual reasons y their not coming in stead of these excuses...

  16. Well maybe now is the time to ask this. What is up asphalt drivers? Is asphalt racing dead or dying in Texas? Tracks put up a good purse and experience and car counts are low.And before someone says travel expense the dirt guys travel from Goliad to Edna to STS and to these tracks from San Antonio and the Valley all year long. Is it that CCS is too tough? CCS ,CTS and SAS need to know why the cars are not coming so they know what they can do to make it better next season , just fold up the tent or convert to dirt. These guys at all three tracks work so hard with few exceptions not getting return.Thank you to the drivers that did show last night. You are the people that get it.There are only 4 asphalt short tracks left and only one is getting consistant counts.Asphalt racers don't have many choices and it looks like that may be down to 3 next season. If you are not planning to support the other two let them know soon so they can stop wasting their time and money.Thank you to all involved at CCS for working so hard.

agreed and with that said ccs cts and sas rules are closer than they ever have been before there's some differences between them and hopefully that can be ironed out soon which allows drivers and teams to travel I would like to knw y more cars aren't showing up and what needs to change to get you to show up im sure everyone is open to suggestions on this
