rebelracewriter Posted January 28, 2022 Report Share Posted January 28, 2022 Houston Raceway Park Releases 2022 Calendar of Events JANUARY 26, 2022 Baytown, TX- Houston Raceway Park, Southeast Texas’ largest multi-purpose motorsports facility, announced its calendar of events for the 2022 race season after successfully extending its ground lease through the end of 2022. The season is highlighted with the final running of the 35th annual NHRA SpringNationals, April 22-24, which will be aired live on the Fox Sports 1 network. TX2K, the Super Bowl of Street Car Racing, leads off the busy race season with the TX2K22 Roll & Drag Race Nationals, March 16-20. This unique lifestyle car event matches the world’s fastest exotic and domestic street cars against each other over a five-day marathon of competitions, to include roll racing, heads-up drag racing, burnout contest, dyno competition, and car show. Detailed event information and spectator tickets are available at www.TX2K.com. The NHRA’s South Central Division races into Baytown April 8-10, for the NHRA Texas Sportsman Challenge. Over 400 sportsman competitors from across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma will call Houston Raceway Park home for three action packed days jockeying for position and points in preparation for the NHRA SpringNationals. The Texas Bracket Racing Series will make three weekend stops at Houston Raceway Park in 2022. This is the training ground where local sportsman racers can compete for the year-end HRP track championship. The opening weekend kicks off January 29-30, and continues February 12-13 and concludes March 5-6 with the Series Finals. The top 8 contenders in each eliminator will be invited to compete at the NHRA SpringNationals for a shootout for the Series Championship. Season 5 of the Street Outlaws “No Prep Kings” Series highlights the summer event schedule with a stop at Houston Raceway Park, June 24-25. Witness history and join the stars of the hit Discovery Channel TV show in Baytown. No Prep Kings is the newest series in the Street Outlaws franchise. Houston Raceway Park will temporarily close during the month of July for the summer break. In addition, the calendar features a variety of entertaining drag race, car show, concerts, and festivals, including Import Face Off, February 27 and June 18, the Houston Performance Truck Shootout, April 2, the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School, April 4-6, Space City Show Down, May 20-21, the Michelada Festival, October 9, October Truck Madness, October 15, the Freaky Deaky Music Festival, October 28-30, and Magical Winter Lights, November 18 through December 31. Houston Raceway Park’s Drag Strip is open every Friday night for Legal Street Racing. Anyone with a valid driver’s license and a street legal car or certified race vehicle can make unlimited passes down the fastest quarter-mile drag strip.
