Bring it all together for the largest Easter Egg Hunt in Edna, TX hist

Three days until the Largest Easter Egg Hunt in Edna Texas History at Texana Raceway Park. A tremendous amount of excitement is in the air for the children. Texana Raceway Park's success with such an event is due to the incredible support of numerous sponsors. Bringing it all together, here is a summary if you want to print and share with others:

 

The Texana Raceway Park website is www.texanaracewaypark.org . Gates will open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting at 6pm, and Races will start at 7pm. If you are a first time fan to Texana Raceway Park, you will be in for a night of great fun with live dirt track stock car racing action and a great family environment with lots of fun for the kids. Also, if you are a first time fan, an ideal time to show up at the track is about 6pm so you can start with meeting the featured driver for the night.

 

1. The Featured Driver for the night is Martin "Cooter" Koehne. Cooter drives the red #48 Pure stock and is the owner of Koehne's Welding Service in Victoria, Texas. A great competitor wherever he races and one who demonstrates incredible sportsmanship helping others when he can. Don't miss the chance to meet Cooter and see his car up in the General Admission area from 6pm to about 6:40 pm. Picture of Cooter's car below.

 

2. Texana Raceway Park admission fees are General Admission - $12 adults, $6 children ages 6-12. Under 6 are free. Seniors 55 and older are $10. Pit entry fees are $50 for the drivers, $25 everyone else, and under 6 are free in the pits accompanied by an adult at all times.

 

3. Each child who enters the raceway will be given a 50/50 type ticket. The child keeps the ticket they receive and we will place a corresponding ticket in a bucket. Before intermission, we will draw one ticket from the bucket for a child who will get the opportunity to be the passenger with a driver and they will choose who they want the driver to be. Just before each feature race, we will draw one more ticket (4 total) where a child will be in the flag stand to be the honorary starter for one of the feature races.

 

4. Race order will be heat/qualifier races starting at 7pm in the following order: Pure Stocks, Mod Lites, Street Stocks, Limited Modifieds. We will move to intermission for the child ride along in a race car and "The Largest Easter Egg Hunt in Edna, Texas History". Following intermission activities, we will crank up the very exciting Feature Races for all classes. In the event that we have more than 24 cars in a class, we will have the necessary B Qualifiers to set the 24 car fields.

 

5. Texana Raceway Park has two Rent-a-Racecars that can be rented by adults who have never raced before at the cost of $200 for the night plus the purchase of a pit pass. The two Rent-a-Racecar drivers this weekend will be Michael Rose and Royce Beasley.

 

6. We have well approximately 2,300 candy filled eggs and anticipate race teams to bring even more on race night. As of this writing on Wednesday evening we have 10 bicycles that will be awarded from special prize eggs that will be hidden, and numerous prize eggs with gift cards in them. If you get a prize egg with a bicycle certificate in it, hold it and we will gather all of the children together with those and match up a bicycle to the size of the child so everyone is happy to the best of our ability.

 

7. Rocky the Dinosaur (the mascot for Peter Piper Pizza in Victoria) will be at the raceway to meet the kids and will be giving away several prizes during the night.

 

8. To top it all off, The Easter Bunny will be Live and In Person for a special appearance!

 

Sponsors bringing bicycles, please remember to bring a lightly taped plastic egg with the certificate for the bicycle in the egg. Sponsors bringing gift cards, etc., be sure to put those in a lightly taped plastic egg and provide to track staff when you check in for the night.

This is a fun , family friendly racetrack to go to. Has a unique relaxing atmosphere.

Additional Information.. If it is your first time visiting Texana Raceway Park, we wanted to let you know that it is designed with stadium style bleachers (no backs in the bleachers) but there is also plenty of space in the grassy area if you want to bring your lawn chair and sit in it. There is quite a bit of space for lawn chairs and a lot of folks prefer to use those.
