NCRA Releases 2017 Sprint Car Schedule!

Park City, Kansas – January 30, 2017 - The National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products has announced their 360-ci sprint car schedule with thirteen races slated at five different tracks as the tour will enter their 28th consecutive season.

As has been the case for the past six years, the season will kick off with the biggest race in the series history, the seventh annual “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” at 81 Speedway in Park City on Thursday – Saturday night, March 23-25, 2017. Thursday night will once again be practice night for all drivers competing in the three-day event with a special time trial session taking place. Driver setting quick time will earn $500; $250 for second quick; $150 for third quick and $100 for fourth quick. This special time trial session will have no bearing on Friday and Saturday night’s events. On Friday night, drivers will draw for heat race position and run heat and features with $1500 going to the night’s feature finale winner. On championship Saturday night, drivers will once again draw for heat race starting positions along with consolation features, all setting up for the $15,000 to win, $1000 to start championship feature finale. Drivers must compete on Friday night or start no better than eleventh if competing Saturday night only.

On Saturday night, April 15, the tour will once again compete at 81 Speedway as part of the tracks “Spring Classic.” This event will pay $3000 to win and $300 to start.

One month later and it will be the first of two appearances at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool, Nebraska on Saturday night, May 20. The tour is tentatively slated to be joined by the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series.
Memorial Day weekend Sunday night, May 28, the “winged warriors” will be back at 81 Speedway and headline the “Sprint Car Maynia” at the speedway.

A Saturday night, June 24, appearance at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kansas will be race number six on the schedule before opening the Independence Day weekend at 81 Speedway on July 1.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 61st annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Midwest Superstore is set for July 14-15, atop the famed half-mile fairgrounds oval of the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.

A Labor Day weekend Saturday night and “Fall Classic” at 81 Speedway is slated on September 2 before their second and final appearance of the season at Junction Motor Speedway on Saturday night, September 9 – once again tentatively slated to be joined by the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series.

After several year’s absence, it will be the thrilling high banks of Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas on Saturday night, September 16.

For the second year in a row Speedway’s Inc. will take the show on the road and the series finale at Salina Speedway on Saturday night, October 7.

The 2017 season for the NCRA sprint car series is shaping to once again have the championship be decided at the last race of the season. Early indications are defending champion Don Droud, Jr. will be back to defending his first ever championship and will once again be joined by touring regulars C.J. Johnson, Jeremy Campbell, Jon Freeman, Jeff Stasa, J.D. Johnson, Jake Greider, Forrest Southerland. There could also be a couple of “Okies” looking to bring the NCRA championship back to the “Sooner State.”
