Winged Sprint Cars Headline Easter Eggstravaganza at CSP!

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (April 1, 2015) – You’ll be hard pressed to find a better way to celebrate the upcoming holiday weekend than with Saturday night’s Easter Eggstravaganza featuring winged ASCS Southwest Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds atop the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park clay oval.

In addition to the ASCS Southwest Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds, also in action on Saturday will be the Arizona Differential Pure Stocks, Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades and AMA Mod Lites with the first green flag flying at 7:00 p.m.

While there will be no shortage of racing action on the track, there will be even more entertainment for the little ones with an Easter Egg Hunt featuring over 400 eggs set to take place for the kids as well.

When all the hunting is in the books, attention turns to the racetrack where South Dakota’s Dusty Zomer reached victory lane in the recent return of the winged ASCS Southwest Region racers to the 1/3-mile oval.

While Zomer reached victory lane, seven-time and reigning ASCS Southwest champ Rick Ziehl of Las Cruces holds the early lead in series points with a 20-point advantage over Ryan Linder. Bob Ream, Jr., and Joshua Williams are next in the points chase with Zomer just ahead of Lance Norick for fifth.

In the IMCA Modified ranks, Bo Partain guns for two wins in a row after topping the March 14 season opener ahead of Kenny Wallace and George Fronsman.

Chris McCurdy, Jr., is two-for-two so far in Arizona Differential Pure Stock action while Daniel Romero topped the Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades opener on March 14 with Adam Etcher besting the AMA Mod Lites this past weekend.

Tickets for Saturday’s Easter Eggstravaganza are just $16, with a $3 discount for Military, Seniors and Students. Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free. VIP passes are available for $20.
