GALLAGHER AT SALEM: Spencer Gallagher returns to Salem (Ind.) Speedway for the third consecutive year in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. In his four previous starts, the Las Vegas, Nevada native has recorded one top-five and two top-10 finishes. Gallaghers career-best finish in the ARCA Racing Series came during this race one year ago, as the driver crossed the finish line in the second position.

CHASSIS INFORMATION: Gallagher will pilot Chassis No. 201 in the Federated Auto Parts 200 presented by Crunch N Nutter at Salem Speedway. This is a brand new Chevrolet Impala to the Ryan Pickle London-led team and will see the racetrack for the first time during Saturdays practice at the Indiana short track.

 

 

 

TEAMMATE ON THE ROOF: With the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series idle until the beginning of May, Gallaghers GMS Racing teammate Joey Coulter will swap his normal driver duties for a new role as spotter. Coulter, a former ARCA Racing Series winner, will be Gallaghers eyes in the sky and assist the 24-year-old throughout the 200-lap event.

 

 

 

MOBILE RECAP: One month ago during the ARCA Racing Series event at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway, Gallagher started the ARCA Mobile 200 from the 11th position. Driving the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Impala, Gallagher spent over 180 of 200 laps inside the top-10 and overcame a late race spin to capture his career-best finish of seventh at the Alabama short track.

 

 

 

MEET SPENCER: Gallagher will join fellow ARCA Racing Series drivers to sign autographs on Sunday, April 27th from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. ET. The pre-race autograph session will take place at Salem Speedway.

If you take every aspect of what you think short track racing should be, then ratchet it up to 11, youll have Salem. I have a theory that a mad scientist designed the place. Picture Darlington (Speedway), shrink it down to a half-mile and give it the surface of Mars. When you come off of turn four, you cant see because your head is banging off the side of the headrest and youre dead sideways. Youll do this for 60 laps at a time. You come off of turn four flat-footed, wide open, sideways and it just sticks. That is what makes Salem so fun. There is no other track like it and it is definitely one of the best races the ARCA Racing Series puts on all season.
