NeilTPS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Texas Pro Sedans return to San Antonio Speedway on September 7 SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 12, 2013) - The Texas Pro Sedans (TPS) touring series will return to the half-mile asphalt oval at San Antonio Speedway (SAS) in San Antonio, TX, on Saturday night, September 7, as one of the eight classes racing in the "Texas Stock Car Spectacular." The 2013 season marks the Texas Pro Sedans 38th consecutive year of four cylinder stock car racing in the southwest. The September 7 event will be the seventh 2013 TPS season race. The Texas Pro Sedans racing program will consist of two laps of electronically timed qualifying time trials. TPS drivers will attempt to establish a new qualifying track record at SAS since TPS rules mandate that changes to track facilities or technical rules require the establishment of a new TPS qualifying track record. Due to track surface improvements at San Antonio Speedway, this TPS rule will be in effect. The Texas Pro Sedans race program will consist of a 20-lap Feature Race, and the starting lineup will be based upon the results from qualifying time trials on Saturday afternoon. Yellow flag laps will not be scored in the Feature Race, and a green-white-checkered flag is required to officially finish a TPS race under full racing conditions, regardless of the number of attempts. Qualifying and Heat Races will also be held on Friday, September 6, for several SAS classes. In addition to the Texas Pro Sedans event, the full racing program on September 7 will feature seven other classes of racing - including the Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Trucks, Texas Asphalt Limited Modified Series (TALMS), Street Stocks, Tator Plumbing Chargers and Grand Stocks.
