Hey Thumper ,being from the valley do you remember Bare Foot McNabb

Would you be talking about this Mexican Bean. Picture was taken at Martindale in 1955 the same day A.J. was there with Ray Harrelsons tip tank. I also have pictures of the NHRA Safty Safari Trailer and pictures of the class winners. Small world Thumper. You made my day.

By the way I also have the Dec. 55 issue of Hot Rod that covered the event.

This has to be the ugliest race car I,ve ever seen.

It is indeed a Wahlborg Midget.

 

The uphostery is not exactly correct nor the brake handle but the person restoring the midget did a great effort.

 

Looks to be an early model with the "I" beam front axle and would guess a '56-57 production era.

 

Where did this event take place?

As soon as Ronnie is through restoring his Fathers track roadster he will tear both of these cars down for complete rebuilds.
