Thunderhill Raceway Schedule of Events

Recommended Posts

Shown below is the Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) detailed Schedule of Events this upcoming weekend – Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, 2011.

• The Friday night (June 17) Open Test-n-Tune times have been changed due to the extreme summer heat. The new times will be 6:00P-11:00P. We’ll also be offering our Friday Steak Night Dinner from 7:30P-10:00P in the Grandstand concession area (more information to follow).

• The Pit/Garage Schedule for Saturday has also been changed due to the hot weather conditions. The Pit/Garage Office will open at 2:30P on Saturday (June 18). However, anyone with a two-day pit pass may come and go at any time throughout the weekend. Drivers, please don’t forget to sign in at the Pit/Garage by 3:00P on Saturday! We’ve scheduled one Organized Test-n-Tune session for each division, starting at 3:30P. Alternating drivers’ meetings will be held during the practice session.

• All drivers in divisions that use radios will need to furnish radio frequencies when signing in at the Garage Office, if you haven’t done so already. Spotters from these divisions must also attend the Drivers’ Meeting (no more Spotter Buddies in the Spotters’ area, please).

• The Front (Grandstand) Gate is still scheduled to open at 4:00P.

Qualifying for the NASCAR A-Line Super Stocks, NASCAR Trucks and the NasKart Pro Racing Series will start at 6:00P on Saturday. Heat races for the Dwarf cars will immediately follow the qualifying runs.

• A mandatory Meet the Drivers session, including autographs for the fans, will take place after qualifying has been completed.

• Opening ceremonies are scheduled to start after the Meet the Drivers session, followed by the Main Events for all divisions. The NASCAR A-Line Modifieds are the featured division (no heat races), and in-car Driver Introductions will be done prior to their main event. Also on the agenda are Kids’ Bike Races and Kids’ School Bus Rides (or possibly hayrides on the track with the race car drivers at the end of the night). Drivers, if you're available to participate, please join your young fans on the track following the Allison Legacy main event!

Overnight camping throughout the weekend is encouraged and is FREE!

Thanks for your feedback on LSS and in your e-mails. We may not have everything exactly right, but we hope we're at least heading in the right direction.

Gunnar,

The NASCAR Trucks are qualifying on Saturday, and they will fall under the following rule from the THR Race Procedures:

SUBSEQUENT RACE NIGHTS: Three (announced) divisions will qualify each night and will be rotated for each race event. See CHART 1 at the back of these race procedures for qualifying event dates for each division. Drivers will be lined up for qualifying by point average, in reverse order, from the lowest point average being the first to qualify through the highest point average being the last to qualify. Points earned or withheld as a result of a Technical Infraction (TI) or Disqualification (DQ) will not be used in calculating the point average. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st – 5 points, 2nd – 4 points, 3rd – 3 points, 4th – 2 points, 5th and above – 1 point each. Five points will be awarded for a new Track Record, but only to the fastest time, not all who may break it in the same night.

The qualifying runs are for points only, not positions in the feature race.

When a division is "featured" on a race night, the heat race finishing positions will be used to determine the feature lineups. However, the Modifieds (featured division for June 18) will not run heat races.
