debwill Posted October 7, 2009 Report Share Posted October 7, 2009 The TEXAS STOCK CAR SPECTACULAR at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) is right around the corner – on October 9 and 10. It looks like the weather will be good on Saturday, and we’re still monitoring the forecast for Friday. If we cannot race on Friday, we will issue a revised schedule for this weekend as soon as a final decision is made on rescheduling the events. Shown below is a flyer that we hope you’ll share with your family, friends and co-workers. A link of the detailed schedule is also shown below. This schedule was issued a few weeks ago, and no changes have been made. Here are a few of the details regarding the Spectacular: An open practice session is still planned for tomorrow (Thursday) from 4:00 p.m. until dark. We will be setting up the electronic scoring system to track all practice times. Pit concessions will also be available at the practice session. Since 12 classes of racing are scheduled to run, pit parking will be limited to tow vehicles only on Friday and Saturday. Similar to the last race, we may also have to work around muddy conditions in the pits. We ask for your flexibility in this area. Following the qualifying runs on Friday night, tires will be impounded for the TSRS Late Models & Allison Legacys and the Pro Modifieds. You will need to bring an extra set of tires to move or tow these vehicles. For all of the other classes, the qualifying tires will be marked and must be used to start the feature races. We’ve been fortunate to get some sponsorship help for the Spectacular, as follows: DWIDUDE.COM has made a generous contribution to the purse for the Pro Trucks, so additional monies will be paid out for all finishing positions PrismStream.com and Umscheid Race Services will be helping with the Pro Modifieds purse - $100 to the winner from PrismStream.com and a $200 gift certificate for the fast qualifying time from Umscheid Race Services Browning Auto Parts will be contributing to the SportMod purse with random cash awards throughout the field. Here's the response he sent last night: I cannot answer the question as I do not know who it, what class of car etc. Very vague question. If it is a class that will race on Friday once they have finished, they would need to load up and move on. That way others that will race on Saturday will have room to park.
