TRP Posted April 11, 2017 Report Share Posted April 11, 2017 Our next race is scheduled for April 22nd. We will be racing all four of our normal divisions. We had a great car count last weekend with very close racing in all four classes and look forward to the same at the next event. The Mod Lites really showed up in force last event and we would love to see them keep it up. Also at the next race, special events at intermission. It will be the return of the Texana School Bus for the kids at intermission. And,,, We will have the Spring Final Four Soectator Racer Championship! What's that you ask? Well, anyone who is not a racer this year can enter. Bring your street legal car and enter for free. We will do one on one competition with the winner going to the infield and the loser exits the track. We will get down to the final four and set them up together with those four street cars running a four lap shootout. . The winner will get $100 and a nice trophy. Second-place gets $60. Third place gets $40. And fourth place will get a hotdog and a soda. Fourth-place may even get a candy bar also if they gave it their all on the track. The rules for the spectator race will be, no current racer this year. Must be a currently registered street legal car. No convertibles. Must be 18 years of age minimum. Must wear a helmet. Must use the driver safety belt/Restraint. Must sign the racer release/waiver form. No entry fee and we will simply sign you up at the ticket booth on the night of the event. We would love to get an estimate on how many spectator racers we might have. Spread the word and let's talk it up on here if you have someone who is interested or if you are not a current racer and interested yourself. We've received a lot of calls and yes, our region did receive quite a bit of rain on Monday night into mid-day on Tuesday. The track itself did it's job and shedded the water into the infield. Infield will be very wet Saturday, but that's not a real worry. the pits are wet and that's where we will focusing our efforts at present. As of this writing, we are set for Saturday night. If anything changes with weather, we will post on Lonestarspeedzone.com and on Facebook as well as the Texana homepage. Also, as a point of interest, we have updated the Pure Stock rules on Texanaracewaypark.org to reflect the allowance for the 4" rear spoiler and the hood rule modification that was discussed in the drivers meeting with Pure Stock teams during the last event. Mr. Randy Seals with Seals Racing has sponsored $100 additional to the winner of the Spring Final Four Spectator Race. It will be 6 inch rear spoiler heightfor the pure stocks . Sorry about the miscommunication on our end. I will also get the rules re-edited again on the Texana website.
