The first race of the season is also the first race of the $5000-to-win Mesilla Valley Transportation Gulf Coast-Border Region points championship. The region consists of 3 races each at South Texas Speedway, Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown and El Paso Speedway Park before ending on March 7th after 3 races at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces. The 12 scheduled feature races will pay a total of $36,000 to the winners along with excellent paydowns for the entire feature field.And it starts what could be worth as much as $150,000+ this year for a national championship to one driver & team!
