Licata to announce for Texas Super Racing Series

There’s a new racing series in town, and now there’s an announcer to go with the series.

The Texas Super Racing Series was created by Mary Ann Naumann of MAN Promotions. The series, which will make its debut run during the 2003 racing season, has nine dates scheduled at three short tracks in Texas: Houston Motor Speedway, San Antonio Speedway and Thunder Hill Raceway (Kyle). There may be more races and/or tracks added to the series’ 2003 season.

Chuck Licata has been named as the announcer for all TSRS races in 2003. Licata has been involved in the local racing scene since 1998, when he took on the announcer duties at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle. He has also made announcing stops at the former Longhorn Speedway in south Austin and the old

San Antonio Dirt Speedway. Licata, who started his announcing career in April 1995 at San Antonio Speedway, will host a one-hour motorsports radio show – The Motorsports Zone – on KVET-AM 1300, “The Zone,” in Austin starting in February 2003.

Information on the TSRS series can be found at the MAN Promotions web site at www.manracingpromotions.com.
