ron.brown11
So far, the rain is staying away!!! The LMSC qualifying is complete. Brendan Queen is the pole setter with a time of 18.111. McKee was 10th at 18.255, and last (33rd), was Landon Huffman with a time of 18.835. Kaden Honeycutt qualified 11th in the #17 Ford, at 18.276. Up next is the Pro LMSs. For the Pros Nick Loden wins the pole, clocking in at 17.815, nearly 3/10s quicker than the Queen pole in the LMSCs. Tenth was Bulger at 18.020, and last (25th) was Caden Kvapil. Honeycutt qualified 16th in the #51 Chevy, with an 18.084. I don't know if it was the qualifying set up, or something else, but it didn't look good at all. Plus, he only took 1 lap and went straight to the pits. Most of the Pro cars had their best times on the second lap. These Pro cars have less hp then the LMSC cars. But because of that, they are more like racing slot cars. It's all about the momentum. I'm really happy for Nick Loden. In the last 2 years, his family owned team has written off 2 cars, in wrecks not of his making. One of them was here at N. Wilkes last year, when he only made 6 laps into the race before getting his car destroyed. I'm sure hoping for better for him tonight. ron.brown11
Well, they're still working through a rain delay, but it looks like they're getting the track dried. I had been watching some other racing, and clicked back to the N. Wilkes feed, to check to see if it had stopped raining. I was happy to see that they were doing driver intros. The second driver intro that I caught was for Cade Brown. I've mentioned him on several occasions, because of races that I've seen him run at both Hickory & Florence Speedways, over the last 3 seasons. I always thought he was a Carolina driver. Turns out that he's from Fulshear, TX, near Katy. He won the South Carolina 400 from Florence last Oct. They're about 10 minutes from engine start for the Pro LMS!! ron.brown11
The opening 40 laps are complete, and Tristan McKee has led them all from the front row (2nd). Honeycutt has moved from 16th to 13th. Yellow for a comp caution, and everyone is heading to the pits. Because of the rain, everyone will maintain their position, while making changes. ron.brown11
With 29 laps to go, yellow flies for Nick Loden. He blew a right front tire and hit the turn 1 wall. He was very slow to get out of the car, and holding his left knee. He was running 4th when that happened. Man, this guy's luck over the last 1.5 years has been not good.. Honeycutt will restart 11th. ron.brown11
Fourteen year old Tristan McKee led all but about 5 laps, holding off Cory Heim at the line. Heim could have roughed him up, but didn't. Good on you Cory. Also, it is McKee's birthday today. He will be making his LMSC debut, as soon as he gets done on the roof in winner's circle. Spencer Davis ran third, and the last position tracker had Honeycutt 8th. So Davis will have the points lead if tech goes well.
ron.brown11
Well that turned to shit real quick. On lap 8 a solo car bounced off the turn 1 wall, and nobody else was involved. On the restart, it looks like the 4th place car missed a shift. The crash involved 11, including the 1st & 2nd place points championship cars of Conor Hall & Brent Crews. Also involved was Honeycutt, and Cade Brown. A few of the cars were able to drive/limp away, Hall and Crews were among them. Queen has led all 8 laps. ron.brown11
Fifty laps in, they're at the comp caution. Queen has led every lap so far. The points leader Conor Hall is still out there running 18th.Queen did lap him just before the comp yellow, but he will get the Lucky dog. Crews has basically a bear bond body, and id running 16th. If Queen, Crews & Hall end up near where they're running now, the points lead is going to be close. With 43 to go, they are under yellow for sheetmetal on the track. Queen is now 2nd, with Lapsovich leading. Crews is up to 13th & Hall is 16th.
ron.brown11
Twenty seven laps to go, and they're under yellow. Tristan McKee skipped it off the turn 1 wall, and he's climbed out of it. Hall is now 12th & Crews is 13th. Well with 4 laps to go, Brandon Pierce spun in turn 2. Lapsovich barely missed the car and the wall, while driving through oil. So the field will be bunched up again, so this ought to be a crazy restart. Lapsovich gets his first CARS Tour LMSC win! They put a lot of speedy dry down around the track. Queen found it, and went from 2nd to 5th. Crews finished 10th, and Hall 18th. That lap 8 restart really messed up a lot of cars. Of the cars that were able to finish the race, Crews was by far the best
24nomo
Another great show put on by these guys. Just like every race, there is someone pissed off. This time Old butterbean cried like a baby. They tore some stuff up. I think the guy that won missed a shift and tore up about 8 cars
24nomo
The Winner who drives for Chad Bryant racing got DQd for running a Ford 9" rear end when the series requires a quick change.

Yeah, that should have been pretty easy to see in pre-race tech. Their tech is really good, and I'd be really surprised that Bryant would swap out the rear ends after tech. Plus, they impound the cars after qualifying. It's puzzling for sure. Conor Hall also got a penalty, for changing out a tire that was flat. That would have been ok, but it wasn't one of their impounded tires, that were permitted for changing during the race. Lucky him, by losing that lap, it still didn't change his finishing position of 17th.
