Chris Davidson Car at Berlin Raceway??

Recommended Posts

There's a car #14, running at the Money in the Bank 150 at Berlin Raceway, with Mike Atwell driving it. When they announced the car during qualifying, they said that it was out of Mike Garvey's shop. But it sure looks like Chris' car. If I remember correctly, Atwell has run a Davidson car before, I think at New Smyrna. Hopefully that will have a good night.

That's his car, love these mid-week big races. Rick Brooks runs a no bullshit show so they stay efficient.

Me Too!! This one pays $15K, and in August it's for 250 laps and $30K, for the Battle of Berlin. They're starting 33 cars, so hopefully they'll have a good clean race. Bubba Pollard qualified 6th, Carson Hocevar 7th, and Eric Jones 8th. Thanks to the pill draw, they'll start 1-2-& 3rd.

Griffith gonna be good in this one.

Yeah, he qualified 2nd fastest. Griffith always seems to qualify and run decent, and then something happens. He rarely seems to finish well at Berlin. There are 2 locals that I think will be really good, Brian Campbell & Evan Shotko. Shotko qualified 15th, which surprised me. But I think he'll race much better. Campbell always seems to run good in the big races, but doesn't seem to be in contention for the win at the end.

Having this many super late models sure makes my heart happy. Brooks is the most strict tech guy short of Cup, and I love that.

It was a clean race. No crashes, and what like 4 solo spins. That's cool!! The funny thing was listening to the Pollard and Rowe interviews. You'd have thought that Bubba finished second, and the Rowe won. It sounds like Brooks made everyone race with a spool, instead of being able to run Gold Tracks in the rear gear. He was pissed about that, but still won. Rowe was ecstatic with his run, especially when you know that his tires were 40+ laps older than everyone else's. I agree, that was a hell of a run, and he'd have won the race if not for that comp caution. I was surprised that they had one inside of 20 laps to go. I love Pollard, but Rowe should have won. Most series that use comp cautions, to keep races from becoming a 1 or 2 horse race, won't have one inside of 20-25 laps to go. That includes Berlin, who doesn't allow one inside of 25 laps to go for their regular races. But this race was sanctioned by the SRL, and Ricky Brooks. The good thing is, all teams were operating with that knowledge.
