31st Annual Lakefest @ Lake Marble Falls 6/7-9/24

Marble Falls, TX.,(June 8^th, 2024) Well the understatement of the

weekend, it's hot!

 

Saturday's qualifying began early in the day under coolish temperatures. Of course cool air is good for making horsepower, but humidity(water grains in the air) not so good. This made the tune ups tricky for the crew chiefs. As the day progressed, so did the thermometer, approaching the century mark. Hydrate!

 

The first round of qualifying went off with only a few hitches, namely breakages and off course excursions. Former Nitro Harley pilot, Ricky House made an early blast in his Top Alcohol Hydro following the Pro Modified and Pro Outlaw qualifying.

 

Then the old nemesis reared its ugly head, the wind. Not that it was blowing hard, but hard enough to create rollers and whitecaps. These conditions are not conducive to safe drag boat racing for the faster boats. Officials shuffled the slower classes around to keep the show progressing.

The Pro Modifieds and Pro Outlaws both had to fight some choppy waters at times with only a few bettering their round one passes.

 

Sunday is time for eliminations to find out who is the baddest of the class on this weekend. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00am with the first round of eliminations following. Bring your sunscreen and remember to hydrate.
