rebelracewriter Posted October 23, 2021 Report Share Posted October 23, 2021 City of Kerrville - Police Department TWO FATALITIES AND MULTIPLE INJURIES AFTER VEHICLE CRASH AT RACE EVENT On Saturday, October 23, 2021 at about 3:20 p.m., a vehicle participating in a drag racing event, Airport Race Wars 2, which was taking place at Kerrville Aviation, 1875 Airport Loop at Kerrville-Kerr County Airport, lost control and left the runway, crashing into parked vehicles and striking spectators who were observing the races. There were two fatalities. Multiple people were injured. Four were transported by air ambulances to treatment facilities in San Antonio. At least one person is being treated at Peterson Regional Medical Center. No further information regarding the condition of those injured is available at this time. Kerrville Police are conducting an investigation into the accident. This investigation is in its early stages and we have no other information to release at this time. HiTech Posted October 28, 2021 Report Share Posted October 28, 2021 i saw the video and cant figure out why poeple didnt think something could happen .. and the driver reminded me of some of our local racers .win at all cost . you dont smoke your tires like he did that far .. he didnt give up till it was to late .. i dont care if they water filled barriers . that will not stop a car at high speed and or kept fans 15 feet away from getting hit by something .. the speed of that car was going i dont think 30 feet back from the track would have helped much ..
