Texas Pride: Two Texas-based companies will return as the primary partners for Austin Wayne Self this weekend at Richmond (Va.) Raceway. The Statesville, N.C.-based team will sport the signage of GO TEXAN and AM Technical Solutions on the No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado for the sixth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race of the season.

Welcome To Throwback Weekend: AM Racing and driver Austin Wayne Self are proud to participate in NASCAR Throwback weekend at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway with their No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado this weekend. AMR and Self will pay tribute to spotter Tony Raines with a look similar to his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series livery during the 1997 and 1998 NASCAR season when Raines piloted the No. 19 Pennzoil Dodge and Ford for Truck owner Kurt Roehrig. During the two-year period, Raines earned one pole, four wins, 11 top-five and 22 top-10s with a fifth-place championship finish in 1998.

Austin Wayne Self Truck Series Darlington Raceway Stats: Austin, Texas native Austin Wayne Self will make his second career Truck Series start at Darlington Raceway this weekend. Last year, he earned a track-best of 17th after starting 24th in his No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet.
 
Austin Wayne Self Truck Series Speedway Stats: At NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tracks classified as a speedway ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 miles in length, Self has made 66 starts throughout his career with three top-10 finishes, while also carrying an average finishing position of 19.0.
 
Kansas Speedway | WISE Power 200 Race Recap: In the most recent NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway, Austin Wayne Self made his 114th NCWTS start.
 
After starting 16th, Self battled the handling with his No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet. Falling to as deep as 25th in the running order, chassis adjustments allowed Self to battle back during Stage 3 to earn a respectable 16th place finish, his fifth top-20 finish of the 2021 season.
 
Seven races complete, Self and his Statesville, N.C.-based AM Racing have one top-10, three top-15s, five top-20s and seven top-23 finishes.
 
To The Point(s): Entering Darlington, Self sits tied with Raphael Lessard Smith for 13th in the championship standings, a loss of zero at Kansas Speedway.  Just 19 points separate Self from 10th in the championship standings currently held by Johnny Sauter and 65 points in the arrears from fifth locked by Stewart Friesen with 15 races remaining this season. AM Racing also secures 15th in the NCWTS owner standings.
 
Calling the Shots: Ryan Salomon will continue to lead Austin Wayne Self and the AM Racing team this weekend at Darlington.
 
This weekend marks his 11th race as crew chief for Self and in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. During his tenure, he guided Self to an average finish of 15.7 during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively.
 
Career Rundown: Since 2016, Self has competed in 114 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, delivering two top-five and 10 top-10 finishes. He finished a career-best 12th in the championship standings in 2018.
 
Spanning six years of Truck Series competition, he maintains an average finish of 18.5.

I was hoping we could escape with a top-15 finish, but we came up a little short. Our No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet wasn’t the best at the beginning of the race – but Ryan (Salomon, crew chief) did a great job with adjustments and by the end of the race, the truck was at its best.”

The LiftKits4Less.com 200 (147 laps | 200.1 miles) is the eighth of 22 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races on the 2021 schedule. The 40-truck field will take the green flag on Fri., May 7, 2021 shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM Satellite Radio NASCAR Channel 90.
