Bobby Hamilton Throwback: Cory Roper and Roper Racing will be throwing it back with TechNet Professional Automotive Service at Darlington Raceway.  The paint scheme that Roper Racing will be running for throwback weekend at Darlington is the TechNet paint scheme that the late great Bobby Hamilton drove in the Truck Series back in 2005.

Hamilton Legacy: It was Hamilton’s last full-time season in NASCAR before he had to step away from racing due to cancer in his neck.  On January 7, 2007, Bobby Hamilton passed away from his battle against cancer.  Hamilton was known for his grit, determination, and competitive attitude every time he strapped in a race car.  His blue-collar values are alive and well in the sport today and can be found in the fabric of the Roper Racing team.

Tune in: Roper Racing and TechNet Professional are excited to pay tribute to the 2004 Truck Series Champion at Darlington Raceway on Friday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. on FS1.

 From the Driver’s Seat:

Cory Roper: “I’m excited to be going to a new place and that has so much history. I’m also excited to be running Bobby Hamilton’s paint scheme this week. He was 04 and was sponsored by TechNet so it was just the perfect option. He had a great race career and was a true racer.  I’m glad to be able to bring some guests this weekend and ready to get out on the track. I want to find some speed this weekend and finish all the laps.”

 From the Pit Box:

Shane Whitbeck: “We learned a lot about our mile and a half program at Kansas. Having Chase give feedback helped us make great notes and helped zero in on changes we needed to make to our intermediate Trucks. I think we will make great progress with downforce in our Trucks. Cory has never been to Darlington but adapts quickly to these tracks and was great on the simulator this week.”
