The Godfather premiers April 2-4 at Red Dirt Raceway

It's an offer you can't refuse.

The next show for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey's happens Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 2-4, when the Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Oklahoma, hosts The Godfather-an event you don't want to miss.

Presented by Club 91, the inaugural event will end with one driver pocketing $10,000 while every other main event starter will take home no less than $1,000.

Like the King of America Modified Nationals powered by Summit, USMTS Modifieds will take part in two rounds of qualifying on Thursday and another two on Friday to set the lineups for Saturday's "alphabet soup" of main events.

B-Mods/Sport Mods (no mixing/matching of rules) will also be on the card all three nights with a complete program of heat races and main events each night. Thursday's winner will take home $500. The winner of Friday's feature gets $750 and Saturday's winner will pocket $1,000.

On Thursday and Friday, the pits open at 1 p.m. and grandstands open at 5 with racing getting underway at 7 p.m. All times are one hour earlier on Saturday.

Grandstand admission on Thursday and Friday is $20 for adults, $15 for juniors (12-16) and seniors (62+) with kids (6-11) just $5. On Saturday, adults get in for $25, juniors and seniors are $20 and kids are $10. Children ages 5 and under are free every day. Pit passes each night are $40.

The entry fee is $250 if received on or before April 1 or $300 at the gate on race day.

"A" Main Payout: 1. $ 10,000, 2. $5000, 3. $3500, 4. $2500, 5. $2000, 6. $1700, 7. $1500, 8. $1400, 9. $1300, 10. $1200, 11. $1150, 12. $1125, 13. $1100, 14. $1075, 15. $1050, 16. $1040, 17. $1030, 18. $1025, 19. $1020, 20. $1015, 21. $1010, 22. $1005, all other starters $1000. All drivers starting the "B" Main but failing to advance will earn $600 and any driver that raced Thursday and Friday and takes a green flag on Saturday gets $200 minimum.

This will be the first-ever visit to the Red Dirt Raceway by the fire-breathing freaks of fossil fuel fun. USRA Modifieds made their debut here for Joe Duvall's "Cowboy 100 Proof" during last year's inaugural Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza.

Located off I-40 at exit 186, and then 16 miles north on Oklahoma Highway 18 in Meeker, the track is a high-banked 1/4-mile clay oval with a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

The "Tailgate District" in turns 1-2 is an all-out fun zone where you can load your car, truck or motorhome down with as many people as possible. These spots are first-come, first-served so contact the track office at (405) 318-0198 for more information.

The Godfather wacked by Wuhan

MEEKER, Oklahoma (March 24)--Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced today that new social distancing measures that are being implemented to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

As part of the new restrictions, Stitt said that all non-essential businesses located in the counties affected by are being ordered to close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 until April 14.

"We need all Oklahomans to take this really, really seriously," Stitt said. Gatherings of 10 people or more will be restricted across the state too.

With this news comes more bad news as officials are forced to cancel The Godfather-an event slated for April 2-4 featuring the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey's at the Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Oklahoma.

This is the second crown jewel event to fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic. King of America X powered by Summit was slated for this weekend but was canceled two weeks ago when the State of Kansas implanted similar restrictions on public gatherings.

The novel coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, China late last year and has since spread to locations across the globe, including the United States.

With high hopes, next up on the USMTS calendar is a three-state tripleheader beginning Thursday, April 16, with the 9th Annual USMTS Sunflower State Showdown at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. Then on Friday, April 17, the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., hosts the 11th Annual USMTS Missouri Meltdown before the trio of shows wraps up Saturday, April 18, at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa.

The 2020 schedule for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey's is highlighted by 51 nights of racing at 32 unique dirt ovals as part of the 22nd season for the world's Best of the Best in dirt modified racing.
