NickHolt Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- May 6, 2005 Contact: Chuck Licata, 512.255.3190 Cup Rookie Kvapil to be Live in The Motorsports Zone NEXTEL Cup rookie Travis Kvapil, who earlier today qualified 17th for tomorrow night’s Dodge Charger 500 at Darlington Raceway, will join co-hosts Chuck Licata and Ric Clark for a live interview this Sunday at 10 a.m. CT in The Motorsports Zone (KVET-AM 1300). The show can also be heard via audio stream at the station’s web site, www.sportsradio1300.com. The Motorsports Zone is sponsored by USRA and Texasspeedzone.com. “Travis was headed for a great finish before getting caught up in a wreck with two laps to go at Talledega (last Sunday),” Licata said. “He still ended up with an 18th-place finish at Talledega, the highest of any rookie. Being that he’s a former Craftsman Truck Series (CTS) driver – our listeners are big fans of David Starr and several CTS drivers – Travis is one of the more popular drivers with our listeners. We look forward to talking to Travis live on Sunday.” The show will also feature Jay Hallas with the Mr. Jim Dirt and Drag Racing Report. Licata and Clark will check in live from Kansas with the University of Texas Longhorns broadcast team of Craig Way and Keith Moreland. Way is the Voice of the Longhorns while Moreland is a former major league catcher. Way and Moreland also have ties into NASCAR and both appear in The Motorsports Zone on a regular basis to give their insight into NASCAR racing. Quote
