Ty Paxon says, “I'M BACK!” at South Texas Speedway

Recommended Posts

(Corpus Christi, TX) Boerne, TX driver Ty Paxson had big goals to begin the 2017 DCRST season. As life happened, an off-track wrist injury halted his season and a June 3rd return was halted by rain, so Paxson returned Saturday night at Corpus Christi and went on to sweep the evening's events at South Texas Speedway.

Weather flirted with being an option but cleared as the start of the program was delayed, but all went well for racing action.

In the 25 lap main event rookie Brayden Becker (17) jumped to an early lead on the 18 car field but Paxon who started shotgun on the field would not be denied and made his way to the point as Becker held on for a very impressive runner-up finish. Dillon Coyne (12) rounded out the podium followed by Gary Buchanan (99) and Tyler Folkerts (42) James Fitzgerald (6), Dylan Budnik (25), Rusty Young (88), Butch Havelka (27) and David Bonner (49) finished out the top 10.

Larry Carwin (64), and Budnik notched heat wins along with Paxson who celebrated his birthday Thursday.

DCRST takes a week off before back to back races July 8th at I-37 Speedway and July 15th at Cotton Bowl Speedway.
