Budman Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 Colt, I see you post on here occasionally. I'm sure I speak for a good number of us here on TXSZ who would love to hear from you. How's the racing going in North Carolina? You winnin' em' all? Quote
Colt15 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Hey Budman. Things are going pretty good up here. We are starting to learn the track and setup alot better. The first week was really rough and we were pretty far off. second week was better just had a small problem towards the end of the race and lost about 6 positions. Last weekend was going to be are best weekend yet. We started 15th and were running 6th and another car got in the back of me. bent the rear clip and had alot of body damage. That took me out of trying to run for rookie of the year cause I will have to take this weekend of getting the car repaired. Its been up and down. The competion is very tough and im learning alot. Thanks for asking- Colt Quote
Definitive Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 What is the car count like there? Quote
hgparkjr Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Is there a link to the track up in north carolina??????? Quote
Colt15 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I would say a good average car count for hickory is around 22. The first race of the year they had 50 cars trying to qualify but usually forst race draws alot more. The spread through the field is alot tighter than I have seen at most tracks. The pole last week was a 15.40 and I qualified 14th at a 15.54. Quote
gundogC3 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 (edited) Show em, Colt-We know you got the stuff!!! one thing strange though--not seeing Terry at the race's here....he's like a fixture at all of the race's around here! Edited April 15, 2005 by GUNDOG33 Quote
Colt15 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 He came to the first two races up here too get me going. Felt weird last week. Was the first time since I started racing 8 years ago that I raced without my dad at the racetrack. He will be at the arts race on the 24th though. thanks for the support-colt Quote

Colt15 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Thanks Horsepower. I Had alot of fun. They had 24 cars show up and we qualified 3rd and finished 5th. They had 5 development teams there this weekend. (2- Joe Gibbs, 1- Evernhamn, 1- MB2, 1- Roush) We are off for two weeks with all the cup races around here so hopefully we can improve next race. -Colt Quote
arts22 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Colt, does Yates have a developmental driving program? If so, with how good your doing have they noticed? How many of the developmental teams did you beat? How many races are on the schedule for that series? keep up the hard work! Quote
Colt15 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 No Yates doesnt have a development late model team. We beat all the development teams but one and that was Aric Almirola from Joes Gibbs. Quote
legacy47 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Hey Colt, Do any of those driver development guys have talent ? the only ones I ever hear about are the Gibbs guys. Quote
Stormin58 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Hey Colt, Can we petition Yates to hook you up in that 88 car? I heard that driver was too old anyways. Is'nt that what Shane said? Keep up the good work out there, your next win at the next level is right around the corner. We are proud of you, whip up on them out there. Steve Quote
