Witt Wins Two at HOT

 

 

 

ELM MOTT—Henry Witt Jr. of Waco extended his winning streak to three in a row with first place finishes in the regular and make-up features Friday night at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Charles Lamb from Aledo was a solid second in the regular feature and Hardy Henderson from Round Rock took third. Keith Green from Robinson and Pat McGuire from Belton were second and third in the make-up race.

 

 

 

Steve Spoonts from Belton crossed the finish line in front of Benji Kirkpatrick from Elm Mott and B.J. Dulock from Robinson in the I-stock feature.

 

 

 

Chris Cogburn from Waco finally found the winning setup for this season and brought home the winner’s trophy in the IMCA Sports Mod main event. Jeff Sexton from Ross was second and Lil’ Robert Black from Waco was third.

 

 

 

Former junior mini stock driver, Nathan Sodek from Temple, transitioned easily from the novice class to Victory Lane in the IMCA hobby stock feature. Charles Cosper from Belton and Jason Gallimore from Waco rounded out the top three.

 

 

 

Waco driver, David Khoury, took top honors in the highly competitive street stock feature. Jason Gauntt from Elm Mott and Doug Andrews from Waco followed in second and third.

 

 

 

Chris Will from Waco, David Sawyer from Axtell, and Kevin Smith from Waco ran one, two, and three in the pure stock feature.

 

 

 

Russell Brackeen from West was awarded the cruiser feature win after the winner was disqualified following a post race inspection. Jason White from Bellmead and David Willis from Elm Mott moved to second and third.

 

 

 

Chandler Simons from Robinson led Brandon Campos and Zach Henson from Waco under the checkered flag in the junior mini stock feature.

 

 

 

No races are scheduled next Friday to allow owners, drivers, and fans an opportunity to enjoy racing at Texas Motor Speedway next weekend. Regular point racing will resume for all classes on April 22 and include make-up features from March 25 for street stocks and pure stocks. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M. and races begin at 8:00 P.M.
