History Quest...

The Kansas Auto Racing Museum recently acquired an old Supermodified/Sprint that raced in Texas, specifically El Paso, in the 1970s. The car's number was "327" was driven by Don Gray and the mechanic's name was Steve Neilson. The sponsor's name was "Auto Salvage of El Paso" and "Supreme Radiator".

Does anyone have information about this car or good sources to check?

Thank you and regards,

You may want to speak with Marvin Phillips, the owner of Phillip's Automotive in San Angelo, Texas. I went to one of his seminars 2 years ago and he is full of amazing racing knowledge and history. I wished I had more time to talk with him. It was like talking to your Grandpa who's been racing for 50 years.

Thanks Nick,

I assume that Marvin Fillip is related to the driver Chet Fillip? Then in doing a Google search I find a Chet Filip (one "L")...also a race driver.

Hoo boy!! I need to spend a little time and figure this one out. :D:D:D
