NickHolt
After conversations with Tim and others, Rodney Rodriguez and I have been asked to be the conduit of information as it becomes available about the future of CTS. So, from what Rodney and I have been told, a possible tenant and the land owner are about to enter in some discussions about the lease if all goes well. To say the least, this is very positive news for the Central Texas Speedway family. As we all know, CTS has become a multi-use facility under Tim's oversight and quite frankly, the only way the track can resonably survive is if it continues to be just that, only with much more emphais on the event's side of the business. Tim doubled the value of the property will all his many improvements and racing alone cannot support the infrastructure, increased taxes and huge insurance premiums, so we might as well get used to being "another event" that is offered at the CTS facility if the lease is indeed awarded. That means that we really need to treat this time of transition (if there is to be a transition) as if we were applying for a job and trying to show the new "boss" that we're worth it to his business model. The negativity on FB and other social media is absolutely shooting ourselves in the foot if we intend to race at CTS in 2017 and beyond. WIth that in mind, we have to keep it positive in public, stay focused on how great a sport Stock car racing is and behave ourselves in public. Rodney plans to use Lone Star Speedzone to share any updates we receive about this situation, so this site will be the sourse of any "official" news regarding this matter. So, far, I have only had to remove one post on LSSZ about this deal, and for that I am might grateful. Keep up the awesome positive attitude folks.
