Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track concludes season with U.S. National Dirt Track Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 31, 2016) - Texas Motor Speedway moves on from one exciting weekend of racing following the conclusion of the Firestone 600 to another as it welcomes dirt track racers from across the country for the U.S. National Dirt Track Championship set for September 9-10.

The Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track will be the site of a tripleheader weekend of racing with Factory Stock, Limited Modified and the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) all in action. The two-day event on the .4-mile Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track features some of the season's most exciting races.

During the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track's most recent championship race weekend in May, the Limited Modified championship was determined by a photo finish with a margin of victory of 0.001 of a second.

The U.S. National Dirt Track Championship gets underway Friday, Sept. 9, with Factory Stock and Limited Modified heats, along with ASCS Red River Region practice. The weekend culminates Saturday, Sept. 10, with championship races for all three series.

Red River Region points leader Brandon Hanks could move a step closer to securing his first career sprint car championship with a victory in the U.S. National Dirt Track Championship. The Tennessee native holds a commanding 168-point lead over second-place Kade Morton with four races remaining on the schedule.

U.S. National Dirt Track Championship grandstand tickets for Friday, Sept. 9, are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, and $20 for adults and $10 for children for the following night's championships on Sept. 10.
