To all:

I just got off the phone with Terry Dickerson who's down at SAS (I'd be down there but I'm shaking a summer cold, )

Terry D. is working very hard with his wife Tammy, Terry Barden (new GM of SAS), Larry Latham, and several other USRA and SAS personnel to get everything wrapped up with the taking over of San Antonio Speedway (realize, the transaction only happened last Thursday).

There are still several factors that have to be dealt with; they've been working from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day since last Thursday to work out all the details to make things happen at SAS.

According to Terry D., the facility is needs a lot of cleaning up before Opening Night this Saturday. He and the staffs down there are moving tires, pulling weeds, picking up trash, doing maintanence to the facility...and that doesn't count all the headaches that come with the paperwork that needs to get done to make the transaction official.

So we ask that you please bear with us while we get everything "in order" down at SAS. We realize we might not be answering your questions in a "timely" manner at the moment, but Terry assures me there WILL be a press release (complete with Friday and Saturday schedules) posted sometime tonight.

As most of you know in the businesses you work--things go on behind the scenes that no one else knows about unless you're directly involved. This is one of those situations. Terry has always been the type of person who does NOT want to release ANYTHING until he's certain all his "ducks are in a row." Just like many of you, he's done things "on the fly" before and it's come back to bite him in the you-know-where.

We ask two things of you: Be Patient and Be Positive. We thank you in advance for your patience, and again--we'll have the schedule and information out by late tonight.

Thank you, and see you Saturday at the new-and-improved San Antonio Speedway!

Sincerely,

Chuck Licata
