top_shelf_12
Yes when your daughter and her mother are a few miles away and we're just in the area of this event, it's too close to home. Her mother also has a cousin that works for DPD and I know several CCPD and Port Police here so it's a very tough situation on a personal level. Thankfully, my family and friends were safe and thank you to all of our law enforcement officers that do their job with integrity and utmost professionalism. I stans behind our brothers and sisters in blue and all first responders and am thinking of the family and friends that are suffering through a loss. Thank you for your service. HiTech
Every time I hear of an officer loosing their life like this I cant help but remember a very close friend and officer who was shot and killed in 88 here is corpus chasing a thief ..what makes it worst for me is I was the last person to sit and eat lunch with him I bought his lunch and bs withhim bout going out that weekend dancing and he joining us as he did many times .he drove off to radar a few blocks away and not 3 minutes after he ate he came by chasing that ahole ..five minutes or so when he stopped the ahole and lost his life with his own gun once in the shoulder to bring him down and three in the back of his head ...Jd bock is never far from my thoughts when around officers .. metroracer
I think all of the operating race tracks in the state of Texas should unite and have special dedicated tribute races all around or very near Times & dates to each other. maybe name the special events like some what the " The Fallen Five 100" or "Remembering The DALLAS Area P.D.-150". some thing of that nature to show that cowardly acts dose not roll in Texas. to show unity so to speak of the most Famous WORDS to Texan's is "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS". maybe named the Don't mess with Texas 25, 40 , 50 , or 75 at all race tracks in Texas all on the same night at all of the operating race tracks in Texas. And for sure all donations & proceeds should go to the families of the fallen five. (ALL LIVES MATTER.....) just a thought!!!
arob
Be careful who you send the money to as sadly there are fake GoFundMe accounts out there. Two good ones are https://www.gofundme.com/2DDQ2X8 and http://dallaspa.org/ . 100% of donations to the Assist the Officer Foundation goes to the families. The gofund me one theguy that started it was on Fox and Friends Friday morning and by the time he got to his car to leave $20,000 had been raised! This account is only for one of the fallen officers who left two young children and his wife.
top_shelf_12
Thing I don't like about gofundme, is they take a percentage so not everything goes to the cause.
