Tuesday Night Thunder Starts the Road to Belleville

Lonnie Wheatley, FAIRBURY, Neb. (June 30, 2016) – The road to the Belleville Midget Nationals will be more action-packed than ever with this year’s addition of “Riverside Chevrolet Tuesday Night Thunder presented by Fairbury Foods and Schmidt’s Sanitation” featuring the USAC National Midgets at Fairbury, Nebraska’s Jefferson County Speedway.

The event, set for Tuesday night, August 2, will also include the JayHusker non-wing Micro Sprint Cars.

It will mark the first time ever for the USAC National Midgets to sling the clay atop the 1/5-mile oval in the southern portion of Nebraska.

“The people in Fairbury and the surrounding communities are really excited about this event,” said event promoter Cody Brewer. “Tuesday Night Thunder will be good for South Central Nebraska and good for Midget racing, it will be a great lead-in to the ‘Chad McDaniel Memorial’ and Belleville Midget Nationals.”

The event will be packed with stars such as Bryan Clauson, who competed in his third Indianapolis 500 earlier this season, past USAC National Sprint Car champion Brady Bacon, Chad Boat, Zach Daum and the Keith Kunz Racing stable that includes the likes of Tanner Thorson, current USAC Midget points leader Spencer Bayston and more.

The Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association will be represented as well with Keith Rauch currently leading the way ahead of Zac Taylor and Greg Schaefer after reeling off three consecutive wins.

It will be a fast-paced event that fans are sure to enjoy in the fairgrounds atmosphere with the covered grandstands, with Brewer assuring that contingency products and gift certificate will be awarded to each racing entry that takes part in Tuesday Night Thunder thanks to the support of the community and the racing industry.

General admission tickets to the event are just $20 for adults with children ten and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

Qualifying will begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing action to follow at 7:30 p.m.
