The Beat Goes on Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 20, 2016) – The championship battles at Dodge City Raceway Park are heating up just as quickly as the summer temperatures as we reach the midway point of the 2016 season.

Championship chase action continue Saturday night, with H&H Roofing of Larned, KS, presenting the card that features IMCA Modifieds along with IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Admission to Saturday’s racing action that fires off at 7:30 p.m. is just $10 for adults.

The Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars get the weekend off to prep for the following weekend’s “Boothill Showdown” Steve King Memorial on July 1-2 that offers up $2,000 to win for the URSS vs. DCRP Sprint Car ranks along with a $10,000 winner’s share for the NCRA Sprint Cars.

The track’s remaining divisions get the 3/8-mile clay oval to themselves this Saturday with Nick Link, Kevin Tabor, Michael Pepper and Cody Davis leading the way into the night.

Rolla’s Nick Link posted another top five finish this past weekend to extend his IMCA Modified points lead to 56 points over Kevin Gray with Ryan Heger and Kale Beavers tied for third another 16 points back. William Nusser rounds out the top five just another five points back.

Clay Sellard and Mike Lunow have traded one-two finishes over the past two weekends with Lunow turning the tables on Saturday night after chasing Sellard to the stripe the previous weekend.

Parity continues to prevail in the IMCA Sport Modified ranks with Jeremy Sigler becoming the 16th different winner in the last 18 events this past weekend. The battle for the title is tightening up as well with Dodge City’s Kevin Tabor just 15 points ahead of Brian May as three-time and defending champion Jeff Kaup of Woodward is back to within 33 points of the lead.

Lakin’s Michael Pepper has reeled off three wins in the last four outings in pursuit of second consecutive IMCA Stock Car title while Bucklin’s Cody Davis used his third win of the season this past weekend to recapture the IMCA Hobby Stock points lead by just fiver markers ahead of Laverne, Oklahoma’s Matt O’Hair.

Tickets to Saturday’s DCRP championship chase action presented by H&H Roofing of Larned, KS, are just $10 for adults with children eleven and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.
