NickHolt
Matt Goulais outguns the A-Line Dwarf Car Series of Texas field Kyle, TX (June 20, 2016) - Matt Goulais (39) has had a tough year in A-Line DCRST Dwarf Car racing, but Saturday night he turned the tables on lady luck at a full 360 as Goulais won the wild, action-packed, 25- lap main event at Central Texas Speedway in Kyle. A big field of 24 cars started the feature as Goulais, along with Arden Vikre (72), set the early pace while the field raced 3 wide at a torrid pace behind them. Dwain Groff (99) took command on lap 4 and appeared to be the car to beat, leading up through lap 21. Groff was driving the Gary Buchanan prepared car in this event after his usual #14 car suffered heavy damage in the prior race at CTS. As the field approached lapped traffic Goulais took advantage of the situation and took control in the final laps as Groff encountered problems getting through the traffic. The top 7 spots sliced and diced in the final laps making the run to the stripe. Drew Semintal (37), Rusty Young (88), Vikre, and Ty Paxson (15) rounded out the top 5. Rodney Rodriguez (4), Groff, Kevin Hubbard (3), Dylan Budnik (25), and Chris Silvas Jr. (86) rounded out the top 10. Lyle Bonnet (16), Vikre, and Paxson picked up heat race wins. The event at CTS a preview of the summer action to come. The teams battled extreme heat and slick conditions throughout the day but yet still produced amazing speeds on the race track. At the midway point of the A-Line DCRST season points have tightened and the fun to the Wild Side A-LINE FINAL 4 will be one of the best in series history. Next up for the series is a return trip to CTS on July 9th Additional series information may be found at www.DCRST.com and series sponsor A-Line Auto Parts information is available at www.ALINEAUTO.com.
