Weather wins again, USMTS rained out in Kasson

KASSON, Minn. (June 15) -- Weather woes have forced event organizers to cancel Wednesday's USMTS Casey's Cup program at the Dodge County Speedway.

With Mother Nature's blessing, the USMTS road warriors will invade the KRA Speedway in Wilmar, Minn., for the second straight season on Thursday, July 16.

A little more than a year ago, Craig Thatcher was standing in Widow Wax Victory Lane in the inaugural event at the semi-banked 3/8-mile yellow clay oval.

Start time is 6:30 p.m. Grandstands are $20 and kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Support classes will be WISSOTA Midwest Mods, WISSOTA Street Stocks, Hornets and Hobby Stocks.

On race day, fans can grab discount coupons good for $2 off an adult admission at Casey's General Stores locations in Atwater, Cosmos and Willmar. To find the location nearest you, visit www.caseys.com.

This event is made possible by support from Marthaler Chevrolet of Glenwood, Kent's Auto Body & Glass of Willmar and Uncommon USA.

The KRA Speedway is located off north of Willmar on US 71, then 0.3 mile west on Ella Ave. NW, then 0.5 mile north on 7th St. NW (at the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds). For more information, call (320) 212-8503 or check them out online at www.kraspeedway.com and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/KraSpeedway.

The week culminates with the 18th Annual Masters at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on Friday and Saturday, June 17-18.

Both days will feature a complete program of UMP Hell Tour Late Models and USMTS Modifieds with racing getting started at 7 p.m.

On Friday, tickets are $25 for adults, $12 for students ages 6-16 and kids; 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. On Saturday, tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for students ages 6-16 and kids; 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $40.

Trackside parking available for the entire weekend only. Regular parking available for the day or weekend for free. Camping is available for $35 for the entire weekend. Call (612) 363-0479 for details.

The Cedar Lake Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval located 1 mile east of SR 35 on SR 64, then 4.2 miles north on CR C to CR CC, then left 1.8 miles. For more information, call (612) 363-0479 or (715) 248-7119 or check out www.cedarlakespeedway.com online.

All four shows will pay $3,000 to win.

All roads lead to the highly-anticipated inaugural Widow Wax Summersota Nationals, June 22-25, at the I-94 Raceway in Fergus Falls, Minn., where a $15,000 payday awaits the winner.
