Clausons Circular Insanity Win Count Climbs to Ten

Lonnie Wheatley, SEDALIA, Mo. (April 21, 2016) Into double digits, and the first one in open wheel action worldwide to do so.

Thats the case for Bryan Clauson in the win column, as he picked off a pair of victories last weekend to reach ten thus far in the Circular Insanity Tour pursuit of 200 events in 2016.

It was a good weekend, no question about it, Clauson said.

Clauson kicked off the weekend with a Friday night USAC Sprint Car score at Bloomington Speedway, enjoyed a tremendous Knoxville Raceway season opener with a 360-ci triumph and a 410-ci runner-up finish and wrapped it all up with a fifth-place ASCS Warrior Region run at Sedalias Missouri State Fair Speedway on Sunday.

With four races over the weekend to run the season count to 42 races, another four races are on the docket with a pair of double dips this weekend.

Fridays action will include MOWA 410-ci and POWRi Midget competition at Jacksonville Speedway with another 360-410 double at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night.

Race 39

Bloomington Speedway has been kind to Bryan Clauson in recent times. And despite starting six rows deep in Fridays USAC feature aboard the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Jonathan Byrds Restaurant & Hospitality Group No. 63 Sprint Car, it was kind once again with Clauson notching his fourth consecutive series win atop Bloomington clay.

Bloomington has been really good to me the last couple of years in the non-wing car. We had to work for this one, we didnt qualify all that great. We were able to work our way forward and got to the lead with about ten to go and pretty much cruised from there.

Race 40

Off to Iowas Knoxville Raceway for the season-opening event proved to be fruitful for Clauson and Matt Woods Elk Grove Ford/Cancer Treatment Centers of America No. 17w Sprint Car with Clauson racing from the tenth starting position for his first 360-ci win atop the famed half-mile clay oval.

We didnt qualify as well as we would have liked, but by the end of the heat race I knew we had a good car. We got a good start in the feature and got up to fifth or sixth early on. Then we slowly but surely picked our way to the front. They guys gave me a great car, it made my job easy.

Race 41

Clauson finished off Saturdays Knoxville double in style with a strong runner-up finish in the 410-ci portion of the event.

I felt pretty good about our chances starting on the front row. I made a small mistake on a restart and opened the door for Danny (Lasoski) and he took advantage of it. You cant do that with guys like him behind you.

Race 42

Another busy weekend wrapped up with Clauson in ASCS Warrior Region action aboard Matt Woods Elk Grove Ford/Cancer Treatment Centers of America No. 17w Sprint Car on Sunday afternoon at Sedalias Missouri State Fair Speedway. After starting eighth, Clauson finished out the weekend with a fifth-place run.

The track was fairly racy in the heats. We knew going in the redraw would be important. We drew an eight. Not only was it the worst number in there but it also put us on the outside which was a disadvantage with it taking rubber down low. We fell in line and made a couple of moves to move up some spots. We got a top five out of it and moved on down the road.

On down the road to Illinois and Iowa this weekend with Circular Insanity pushing past the 20% mark.
