$2000 to Win NCRA Modified Opener This Saturday Night

Park City, Kansas (April 10, 2016) - The National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division will kick off their 2016 race season this coming Saturday night, April 16, at 81 Speedway in Park City. And not only will drivers be looking to get an early point advantage in trying to unseat two-time and defending tour champion Dan Powers, they will also be looking to capture the special $2000 to win first place prize money.

Don Hattan Chevrolet is the new sponsor of the 81 Speedway pace car for the 2016 race season, providing the 2016 Camaro SS that will pace the field during all weekly and special events at the speedway. It will be the first time in over forty years that Chevrolet will be a fixture at the C Ray Hall owned facility and they have graciously added to the prize money that will kick off the 18th consecutive season for the NCRA modified tour.

Below is the official pay scale for this 18th consecutive season opener for the series modified division: A Feature: 1) $2000, 2) $1000, 3) $800, 4) $600, 5) $550, 6) $500, 7) $450, 8) $425, 9) $400, 10) $350, 11) $325, 12-20) $300.

Powers is coming into the season opener as the driver to beat, having won by the 2014 and 2015 tour championships, yet dont expect anything to be decided until the final checkered flag falls at 81 Speedway in October. The past four years has seen the point battle come down to the final night and this years point battle should be no different.

Pit gates open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand general admission tickets are just $15 for this event. 81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th street in Park City. Also competing on this night will be race number two for the NCRA and NSL 360-ci sprint car division.

Since 1971 the National Championship Racing Association has sanctioned dirt track racing throughout the southern plains and currently sanctions 360-ci sprint, modified, late model and mod-lites involving three different states.
