(March 30, 2016) Dodge City Raceway Park fires to life for the first time in 2016 with this Saturdays season-opening event atop the 3/8-mile clay oval.It will be more than just the season-opening event though for the IMCA Modifieds. It will also serve as the one and only tune-up opportunity for the Fourth Annual Dodge City Modified Stampede that takes the city by storm on Saturday night, April 9.The IMCA Modifieds will mix it up for a $1,200 winners share on April 9 with a full card of Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks in action as well.Oberlins David Murray has topped three of four previous Dodge City Modified Stampede feature events including last years edition when he beat Cody Gearhart and 2014 winner Brendon Gemmill to the stripe. Murray swept through both nights of the inaugural edition in 2013, the only year the event included multiple nights.While Murray has reigned supreme in three of four previous Dodge City Modified Stampede feature events, the father-son duo of Troy and Brendon Gemmill rank as the only two drivers to finish among the top ten in all four feature events.Along with his 2014 triumph, younger Gemmill, Brendon, finished third last year along with showings of fourth and sixth in 2013. His father, Troy, finished second in the first Dodge City Modified Stampede feature in 2013 and has posted finishes of ninth, third and fourth since.Three-time and reigning DCRP track champion Austin Allen of Goddard posted a fifth-place finish in last years Modified Stampede after a runner-up showing in the 2013 finale.The Fourth Annual Dodge City Modified Stampede will also count as the second round of championship chase action for the IMCA Modifieds after this Saturday nights much-anticipated season opening tilt that includes all five of the tracks championship chase divisions.Tickets to the Fourth Annual Dodge City Modified Stampede are just $15 for adults with children eleven and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.The complete 2016 schedule of events at Dodge City Raceway Park is available at http://www.dodgecityraceway.com/schedule/.Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south.
