CSP Back in Action this Saturday Night

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (March 30, 2016) The battles continue at Canyon Speedway Park on Saturday night with the Arizona Differential IMCA Modifieds headlining a full card of racing action atop the 1/3-mile clay oval.

Along with the IMCA Modifieds, Saturdays tilt that goes green at 7:00 p.m. will also feature the Allscapes IMCA Stock Cars vs. SCRA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks vs. Renegades presented by Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive, Micro Sprints and Dwarf Cars.

The CSP points race for the IMCA Modifieds is a tight one in the early going with only eight points separating the top five thus far. Zack Madrid holds a meager three-point edge over Mike Strobl going into Saturdays action with Bubba Stafford, Steve Stultz and Guy Norton among the early top five.

Stafford topped the most recent IMCA Modified outing at CSP on March 12, beating Joey Moriarty, Kenny Wallace, Madrid and Norton to the stripe.

A winner of two of the last three IMCA Stock Car feature events, George Fronsman holds a one-point edge over February 26 winner Cody Center in CSP track championship points with Speedy Madrid, Steve Shumaker and Kenny Wyman, Jr., also among the early top five.

While Jason Beshears, Richard Bennett and Chuck Thornton have each enjoyed IMCA Hobby Stock vs. Renegade victory lane thus far in 2016 points action, its Jason Crowe holding the early points lead by just three markers over Bennett with Jacob Madrid and Mark Kilian tied for third another two points back.

The Micro Sprints have offered up four different winners over the past four events with Dustin Cormany the most recent winner last Saturday night after Colton Hardy, Tyler Merrill and Paul Martin picked off previous wins.

In the Dwarf Car ranks, Ed Schule will be gunning for a third CSP win in a row after snaring his second straight victory on March 12.

Tickets for Saturdays action are just $16, with a $3 discount for Military, Seniors and Students. Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free. VIP passes are available for $20.
