USMTS set to invade Humboldt, Winston for MSD Central Region openers

 

HUMBOLDT, Kan. (March 12) -- The preeminent powerhouse of dirt modified racing readies for a humongous tripleheader next weekend, March 18-20, as the United States Modified Touring Series kicks off action in the MSD Central Region presented by Day Motor Sports.

 

With the track still burning hot from the big B-Mod race this week, the fire-breathing machines of the USMTS Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental take center stage at the Humboldt Speedway this Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, for the 11th Annual Spring Fling @ The Bullring.

 

Gates open at 4 p.m. both days with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. Spectator tickets are $18 Friday and $20 Saturday. Kids ages 6-12 are $5 both nights and children under 6 years old get in for free. Pit passes are $35 both nights.

 

Holley USRA Stock Cars, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and local Pure Stocks will also be on the racing card both nights. Saturday's show will be the season-opening event in the Iron Man Challenge for both Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

 

Friday's USMTS winner gets a $2,000 paycheck while Holley USRA Stock Cars go for $500, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods $400 and Pure Stock $250 to win. On Saturday, the USMTS feature race carries a $3,000 top prize with $750 to win Holley USRA Stock Cars, $600 for the Out-pace USRA B-Mod winner and $250 to top the Pure Stock division.

On Sunday, March 20, the USMTS road warriors roll into Winston, Mo., for the 8 Annual Missouri Meltdown at the I-35 Speedway.

 

Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6 and racing at 6:30. Spectator tickets are $20, kids ages 6-12 are $8 and children ages 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.

 

Also on tap is the Iron Man Challenge featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

 

Sunday's USMTS main event winner takes home $3,000. Holley USRA Stock Cars will race for a $750 top prize and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods grapple for a $600 winner's share of the prize money.
