arob - TPS is an asphalt class and has done 2 dirt races in more than 500 in 40 years. They didn't go over very well.

The noted four race dates are being saved for CC Speedway until April 1.

FOCUS on the 2016 TPS SCHEDULE:

With the discussion about whether the TPS asphalt class should be on dirt in the 2016 racing season, let’s consider the following suggestions we’ve heard.

1. The 2016 Texas Pro Sedans season schedule has been contracted with CTS, the finest and operating asphalt track in Texas.
2. Central Texas Speedway has put faith in TPS by hosting 7 car owner preparation attractive race dates during the 2016 season.
3. TPS drivers are very fortunate to have secured the best place to race and insure the continued investment in their cars.
4. With the 41st TPS racing season beginning on April 23, TPS cars should be made “race ready” to deserve confidence shown by CTS.

The Race Bulletin for April 23rd and Entry Form will be sent to all TPS members by March 15.
The April 23rd Entry Form is currently posted on www.texasprosedans.com

Following is why TPS drivers should print and mail the entry form with the $60 (same cost) entry fee:

1. The inverted qualifying line will be determined by order of paid entry received.
2. If time trials are not held or completed, provisional race starting positions will be based upon order of postmark/receipt.
3. Two bonus points are awarded to each paid entry postmarked or received two weeks or sooner before a race date.
4. One bonus point is awarded to each paid entry postmarked or received not-later-than one week before a race date.
5. An entry received at track costs a $10 TPS late fee and receives no bonus point(s).
6. Non-arrival entry fees are automatically refunded by rolling over to the next TPS race.

If a 2016 Membership Application form hasn’t completed and sent in, it is also posted on www.texasprosedans.com
(If a 2016 membership dues balance is owed, please mail it to the address on the 2016 Membership Application form).

FOCUS – MAKE YOUR TPS CAR RACE READY!

Right now CTS is the only asphalt track in Texas operating excluding TMS. Now if HMP re-opens, has TPS ran Houston in the past or would it be an option? I hope another asphalt track makes it and can open up for you guys. I grew up watching asphalt races so it's hard to see them all closing but yes CTS is doing a good job keeping it alive. Good luck this year and hope it's a success.

top_shelf_12 -

Yes ... TPS has raced at HMP several times.

TPS quit racing in Houston when HMP declined paying future deserved purses to TPS and several other touring series.

This is another reason for TPS to FOCUS ON CTS.
