Jones Scores Career-Best Finish at Iowa

Brandon Jones, driver of the No. 33 Air Management Supply / AGRA Industries Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), picked up his career-best finish on Friday night at Iowa Speedway in the American Ethanol 200.

Jones started from the fourth position for the 200-lap event, but quickly picked up two positions on lap one. Remaining in the second position until the third caution period on lap 42, Jones pulled his Air Management Supply / AGRA Industries Chevrolet down pit road where crew chief Shane Huffman elected to take four tires and fuel to help Jones with a loose handling condition. Jones restarted in the eighth position behind several trucks that took only two tires.

By lap 110, Jones had made his way back into the top five and patiently hunted down the trucks that ran ahead of him. Huffman made a late race gamble to take two tires during the lap 152 caution period, placing Jones in control of the lead with 44 laps to go and no complaints about the balance of his Chevrolet Silverado. Jones battled to keep the lead in the final laps, but ultimately finished second to race winner Erik Jones.

Friday nights second-place finish is his best result of the 2015 season, and his second career top-five finish. The result advanced the No. 33 truck to ninth in the NCWTS Owner Standings.

BRANDON JONES QUOTE:

This was a huge night for GMS Racing and the No. 33 Air Management Supply / AGRA Industries Chevrolet. We had so much speed and the handling was never too far off, but the two-tire call that Shane (Huffman, crew chief) made at the end gave us just what we needed to bring home a good finish. Two weeks in a row, a GMS Racing truck has been in the top two at the end of the race and this wont be the last time. Im excited about where were headed with the rest of the season.
