Gallagher Flying High Into Iowa Speedway

Is this Heaven? Its Iowa Iowa Speedway hosts the ninth event of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season, and Spencer Gallagher, driver of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet, is making his second-career start at the 7/8 mile tri-oval. As the host of NCWTS races since 2009, Iowa is highly regarded as one of the most exciting venues on the circuit. Last season in his first start at the Newton, Iowa speed plant, Gallagher posted his season-best non-restrictor plate finish of 11th while running a partial schedule. In addition to his lone NCWTS appearance at Iowa, Gallagher has two starts in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards to his credit, with a best finish of eighth in 2012.

Flying High Last week at Gateway Motorsports Park (GMSP), Gallagher notched his career-best finish of second in his debut at the 1.25 mile oval. The runner-up result out performed his previous career-best finish of third, which he posted last season at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. The result matches GMS Racings best NCWTS finish in the organizations history, which was previously set by Ty Dillon in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway earlier this season.

Rookie Year to Date Thanks to his second-place finish last Saturday night at GMSP, Gallagher has climbed to seventh in NCWTS points, the high point of his rookie season. Through eight of 23 races, Gallagher has collected one top-five, two top-ten, and five top-15 finishes. Heading into the ninth event his rookie campaign, the Las Vegas native is a mere nine points outside of the top five in the standings.

Iowa Chassis... In his second start at Iowa, Gallagher will race chassis No. 025 for the second time this season. Gallagher will look to post back-to-back top-five finishes for the first time in his career, in a chassis most recently utilized at Dover International Speedway. In that race, Gallagher started 13th and ran inside the top five prior to the halfway mark before collecting a 12th-place finish.

SPENCER GALLAGHER QUOTE:
On the unique characteristics that Iowa Speedway offers:

"Im looking forward to going back to Iowa (Speedway). Its a place we have run well in the past in the ARCA (Racing Series) and had our second-best finish of the season in the NCWTS last year. Its such a perfect match for our trucks. There are multiple lanes because youre always looking around for grip, and there are some sizable bumps in turns 1 and 2. Our Allegiant Travel teams second-place finish last week was huge for us, and definitely gives us added confidence and something to build on. (Crew chief) Jeff (Stankiewicz) is making great calls on pit road and were making our Allegiant Travel Chevrolets better each time we go to the racetrack. Im really encouraged by the way this GMS Racing team is progressing and hope to continue our strong runs this week at Iowa and get another strong finish.
