Brandon Jones Secures His Best Finish of 2015 at Dover

Date: May 29, 2015
Venue: Dover International Speedway
Start 12th (To the Rear)
Finish 8th
Laps Led - 0
Owner's Points Position - 7th (Tied)

Brandon Jones, driver of the No. 33 AGRA Industries Chevrolet Silverado, picked up his first top 10 of the season in Friday nights Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. Jones and crew chief Shane Huffman worked through loose conditions for most of the 200-lap event, but ultimately the Monster Mile was no match for the GMS Racing team, which brought home an eighth-place finish.

Jones qualified in the 12th position, but after changing tires due to a spin during the final round of NCWTS qualifying, the No. 33 team moved to the rear of the field for the start of the race. Huffman made the call to stay out during the first caution period on lap 15, allowing Jones to move into the top 20 by the time the second yellow flag waved on lap 28. Huffman continued to use pit strategy to gain track position and by lap 50, Jones had made his way into the top 10. Jones remained inside the top 17 throughout the remainder of the race.

Strong lap times and a bold pit strategy allowed Jones to pick up his best finish of the season and second top-10 finish at Dover. The No. 33 Chevrolet is now seventh in NCWTS Owner Standings after picking up four positions.

BRANDON JONES QUOTE:

Im so proud of our GMS Racing team. We were challenged with moving to the back after a spin in qualifying, but we never gave up and we were able to pick up a solid top-10 finish. We started off the day way too loose on entry, but the No. 33 AGRA Industries Chevrolet was incredibly fast and handled perfectly during the last green flag run. Were consistently getting better and I look forward to getting to Texas and picking up another top-10 finish.
