Gallagher Meets Miles for the First Time at Dover

Meeting the Monster ... The concrete monstrosity of the one-mile Dover International Speedway is hosting the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) for the sixth event of the 2015 season. The Lucas Oil 200 marks the first time Spencer Gallagher, driver of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet, has competed at the Monster Mile, and is his first NCWTS start on a completely concrete surface. In his short NCWTS career, Gallagher has just one start on a one-mile oval, which came at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway (PIR) in November of 2014.

Season to Date Sixteen starts into his NCWTS career, and five races into his first full-time season, Gallagher sits ninth in points coming off his first top-10 finish of the season at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway (CMS). The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has just one previous NCWTS start on a one-mile track, but crew chief Jeff Stankiewicz has two starts at Dover, most recently guiding Joey Coulter to a fifth-place finish for GMS Racing last season.

Dirty Double Duty On Saturday evening, Gallagher will complete his third consecutive weekend in an abnormal style of double duty. After his first Lucas Oil 200 at Dover on Friday, Gallagher will compete in his No. 23 dirt crate late model at Friendship Speedway in Elkin, N.C. on Saturday night. To date, Gallagher has made four dirt crate late model starts, as the efforts are all aimed at accelerating his learning curve in the NCWTS with additional seat time.

Dover Chassis Choice... The Las Vegas native will take on Miles the Monster for the first time behind the wheel of GMS Racing chassis No. 025. In 2014, Joey Coulter drove this chassis in three races for GMS Racing: Gateway Motorsports Park, New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), and Phoenix International Speedway (PIR). In all three races, chassis No. 025 qualified in the top 10, and posted a best finish of ninth at NHMS.

Points Report After notching his first top-10 finish of the season two weeks ago at CMS, Gallagher jumped up to ninth in NCWTS points, just 15 markers out of the top five.

200 Wins Chevrolet reached the 200 win mark in the NCWTS with Kasey Kahnes victory at CMS two weeks ago. Gallagher and his GMS Racing teammate, Brandon Jones, look to add their names, and GMS Racing, to the esteemed list of Chevrolet winners in the NCWTS this weekend at Dover.

Meet Spencer... This weekend at Dover is the last chance for fans to collect the first of four collectible hero cards of Gallaghers. He is scheduled to participate in the NCWTS Autograph Session on Friday afternoon from 2:15-2:35 p.m. ET. From there, he is scheduled to visit the Velocity Suite at 2:45 p.m. While supplies last, fans can send hero card autograph requests to GMS Racing at 310 Aviation Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.

SPENCER GALLAGHER QUOTE:
On his expectations of Dover International Speedway:

"Ive never raced there before, but I cant wait to get on the track for practice because Dover is such an anomaly. Drivers always seem to describe it as a roller-coaster, but it looks like a racetrack that requires a lot of nerve to hustle the truck around there. The race isnt all that long, being 200 laps, so hopefully we can get a good qualifying effort with our Allegiant Travel Chevrolet. It was great for our team to grab our first top-10 finish of the season at Charlotte (Motor Speedway) last race, and hopefully we can string together more solid finishes and continue to climb the point standings.
