ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Southern Division Season Opener Part II Set For Saturday, May 23rd - Baer Field Speedway to host the conclusion of the Broaster Chicken 50 Presented by Burkett-Nester Racecars

Fort Wayne, Indiana (Saturday, May 23, 2015): The rescheduled Broaster Chicken ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Southern Division season opener, the Broaster Chicken 50 Presented by Burkett-Nester Racecars is set for Saturday, May 23rd at Baer Field Speedway (IN). The original date of May 9th was postponed due to rain and thunderstorms that plagued the Fort Wayne, Indiana speed plant forcing Tour and Track President, Dave Muzzillo to postpone the event to the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. A rain date of Sunday, May 24th has also been announced for the event.

In addition, there will be an Optional Practice on Friday, May 22nd as the Pit Gates open at 4:00p.m. The BFS Drag Racing Series will take over the track starting at 6:00p.m., then from 8:00-10:00p.m., the track will then revert to open Practice for the ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Southern Division teams as well as any other divisions who are racing the following day. Grandstand Admission is Free as Pit Passes will be $15.00 for everyone. In addition, Free Camping is Available throughout the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.

The field was set by Economy Auto Parts Qualifying back on May 9th as Bud Adams won the award over the 26-car field with an 18.327. His lap equaled out to 98.216mph on the 1/2 mile. The ICAR Track Record remains in the possession of Adams who, back on September 18th, 1999, almost 16 years ago, turned in a 17.790. Adams then drew the maximum redraw invert of a 12 which will place Rookie Matt Dimit and Dave Dobbins on the front row of the Broaster Chicken 50 Presented by Burkett-Nester Racecars.

There will be no qualifying at all for the ICAR teams as the fields have already been set based off of Economy Auto Parts Qualifying on May 9th.

The 10-Lap Last Chance Race, which will be the first event of the night on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00p.m., and will see M.P.H. Promotions Rookie of the Year title contender, Trei Deubel and veteran, Damon Breedlove, the all-time leader in career starts in ICAR history, start on the front row. Teams that were already pre-entered for the event but did not arrive on the originally scheduled date of May 9th, will start behind the teams already qualified into the Last Chance Race line-up by order of entries received prior to the original date of the show.

Also, any teams that were not on the property at all on May 9th can fill out the existing Pre-Entry Form, which is still good for the rescheduled date of May 23rd and would start at the rear of the starting lineup behind the cars who have already qualified for the show as well as those who were pre-entered but did not arrive on the originally scheduled date of the race. There will be no Qualifying as the order of Pre-Entries received into the ICAR home offices in Angola, Indiana will determine the remainder of the Last Chance Race starting line-up.

As for the support divisions for this event, four of the five Baer Field Speedway Fort Wayne Transmission 'Hot 5' weekly racing series divisions will be in action on the inner 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval. The AR Bodies Late Model Sportsman, Kings John Services Street Stocks, Afdent Dentistry Compacts and Grote Automotive Compacts will all be a part of the holiday weekend celebration for a total of five great divisions.
