Charlotte Rookie Brandon Jones, driver of the No. 33 PROSTOCK Chevrolet, will hit the track Friday, May 15th for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race. The sixth race on the NCWTS schedule will mark Jones first start at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway (CMS) and second career start on a mile-and-a-half track. Jones hopes to take advantage of time spent on track during last winters rookie test to top his season-best finish of 15th.

Sight Set on Stability Jones is ready to rebound after an early end to his Kansas Speedway debut one week ago. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender looks to the next six weeks of the NCWTS schedule, when the team races five times, to capitalize on consistency and jumpstart the No. 33 PROSTOCK teams rise in the standings. The No. 33 truck currently sits 11th in the NCWTS Owner Standings.

Chasing a Milestone Chevrolet has 199 race wins through the 21 year history of the NCWTS. The manufacturer is seeking the milestone, 200th NCWTS win, and the first since September of 2014. GMS Racing offers Chevrolet two prime opportunities to reach the 200 win plateau, with Jones, and teammate Spencer Gallagher in the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet.

Charlotte Chassis Choice Crew chief Shane Huffman and the No. 33 PROSTOCK Team have selected chassis No. 020 for Friday nights event. This chassis has been raced four times, including most recently at Atlanta Motor Speedway where Ty Dillon drove to a second place finish.

On the approach for his first race at Charlotte Motor Speedway

"I feel really good about our chances to run well in the PROSTOCK Chevrolet this week. Our GMS Racing team tested at Charlotte (Motor Speedway) last winter which really helped with getting a feel for the track and the way the truck moves through the corners. Having that test experience will help put us ahead, and will allow us to focus on finding speed and determining which line is the fastest around the track. Charlotte is different than any other track Ive raced at, and I know there are adjustments Ill have to make in the moment, but I feel like we can expect to leave with a great finish. Ty (Dillon) ran this same truck in Atlanta and finished second so we know were showing up with strong equipment. We had great speed in qualifying last weekend and hopefully we can have our PROSTOCK Chevrolet up in contention this week.
