NCWTS 250 Event Preview

Kansas Conqueror ... Spencer Gallagher, driver of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet, returns to Kansas Speedway for his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start, with added confidence. In his most recent trip to Kansas, Gallagher scored his first career victory in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA) finale last season, leading 53 of the 99 laps. The victory was the Las Vegas, Nevada natives first in a national series, and sparked confidence for Gallagher and the Allegiant Travel team heading into Friday evenings 167 lap affair.

Immediate Intermediate History Gallaghers NCWTS debut came at Kansas in April 2013. In 15 career NCWTS races, Gallagher has seven starts on one-and-a-half-mile speedways. He scored his season-best finish on the 1.5 mile Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. After recently coming off a productive rookie test at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and channeling confidence from last seasons ARCA win, Gallagher is confident about the prospect of duplicating his result from last season at Kansas.

Points Report... Through three of 23 events on the NCWTS season, Gallagher is currently tied for eighth in the championship point standings, 44 markers behind leader Matt Crafton. In the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings, Gallagher is fourth entering Friday evenings event at Kansas.

Chasing a Milestone Chevrolet has 199 race wins through the 21 year history of the NCWTS. The manufacturer is seeking the milestone, 200th NCWTS win, and the first since September of 2014. GMS Racing offers Chevrolet two prime opportunities to reach the 200 win plateau, with Gallagher, and teammate Brandon Jones in the No. 33 MasterForce Tools Silverado.

Kansas Chassis Choice... The Allegiant Travel Chevrolet of choice for Gallagher at Kansas Speedway is chassis No. 022. This Chevrolet was a workhorse for GMS Racing last season with Joey Coulter at the controls. This chassis competed in seven races, most recently at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and recorded a best finish of third at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in 2014.

Meet Spencer... Only three race weekends remain to collect the first of four collectable Gallagher hero cards, which is available through the Dover International Speedway race weekend in May. Gallagher is scheduled to participate in a Q&A Session at The Finish Line hospitality area. Fans that have a ticket to the hospitality area can meet Gallagher at 2:40 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon. Gallagher is also scheduled visit the Chevy Stage on the midway at 5:50 p.m. CT on Friday evening.

SPENCER GALLAGHER QUOTE:

What attributes about the track and racing make Kansas Speedway one of your favorites?
"The racetrack is just so fast and has so much grip, youre wide open for a good portion of a fuel run. I have been looking forward to this weekend for a while, ever since we won our first ARCA race at Kansas last October. That was a huge moment for myself, our Allegiant Travel team and everyone at GMS Racing. Our Chevrolets have had great speed in the first three races this season, and our Allegiant Travel Silverado should be even better this weekend. Kansas is a place where track position is a premium, the pace doesnt drop off into the race, and makes for a blazing fast race. Im looking forward to the challenge this weekend, and hope we can be in contention in the closing stages.
