International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 Event Preview

Talladega History For the second time in his career, Sheldon is piloting the No. 20 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet-at the famed Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Sheldon has one previous ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA) start at Dega, coming last season when he earned a thirteenth place finish. Friday evenings International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 will be Sheldons third career ARCA start.

ARCA Experience The Las Vegas, Nevada native has an affection for restrictor plate racing, and planned a schedule focused on superspeedway racing in 2015. Sheldon kicked off the 2015 season with an eighth place finish at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (DIS), and provided drafting help that propelled his GMS Racing teammate, Grant Enfinger, to victory.

Calling the Shots Shane Huffman, crew chief of GMS Racings No. 33 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) team, will be on top of the pit box for Sheldon during Friday evenings 200 miler. Huffman also served as crew chief for Sheldon during the season opener at DIS.

GMS Racing 2015 to Date GMS Racings ARCA season is off to a stellar start in 2015. Enfinger began the season winning three consecutive races. Dating back to Spencer Gallaghers victory at Kansas Speedway last October, GMS Racing had a win streak of four consecutive races. Thus far in 2015, GMS Racing has a combined five ARCA starts, with three wins by Enfinger, and four top 10 finishes. This weekend, GMS Racing can become the first organization to sweep the restrictor plate races in a season since 2004 when Kyle Busch and Blake Feese won DIS and Talladega, respectively, driving for team owner Rick Hendrick.

Chassis Choice The Allegiant Travel team has prepared chassis #089 for Sheldon. This same chassis was raced at DIS where Sheldon was in contention for the victory in the closing stages and recorded an eighth place result after leading six laps

Catch the Action The International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 from Talladega will go green at 6 p.m. ET on Friday evening. FOX Sports 1 will have LIVE coverage of the second, and final, restrictor plate event of the 2015 ARCA season.

Scott Sheldon Quote:

I cant wait to get on the racetrack again after we had a great run at Daytona (International Speedway) in February. GMS Racing has had such a great start to the season with Grant (Enfinger), and Im really thankful to be in this position to have such a fast Allegiant Travel Chevrolet each race. I really enjoy restrictor plate racing, and hopefully we can have both GMS Racing cars in contention in the closing laps.
