“NASCAR Double Feature Night” this Saturday, 10/11/2014, at Houston Motorsports Park

Houston, TX (October 9, 2014) – Double features are on tap for all NASCAR Stock Car Racing divisions this Saturday at Houston Motorsports Park as well as the Eco Stocks, Legends and Bandoleros.

Drivers competing at the “Palace of Power” this weekend will be gunning double-hard for double NASCAR Championship points since time is running out with only two race nights left in the 2014 season. Without a doubt stock car racing fans will be treated to some intense NASCAR racing action in all six HMP racing divisions.

In the NASCAR Fiesta Modified class, which is the fastest three NASCAR-sanctioned division competing at the pristine 3/8-mile concrete/asphalt oval, any one of the top dozen drivers are capable of winning on any given night. And any of the top five in the point standings – Zach Knowles, Michael Kourkoubes, Joe Aramendia, Clayton Green and Jason Morman – still have a shot at the coveted championship crown. But it looks like it’s going to boil down to a two-way dogfight between Knowles and Kourkoubes with perennial champ Joe Aramendia needing to pull out all the stops to notch yet another championship.

The NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks are likewise embroiled in a battle for the title with Charles Evans, Jr, David Webster and Mason Teague all with a real shot at the top spot.

David Webster – yes, the same David Webster who is in contention for the BWFS Coke Truck championship – has a lock on the NASCAR American Muscle Car title. The AMCARs are the newest HMP division and Webster, who dominated the class when it was known as the NASCAR Stock Cars, got a running start this season and has never looked back. There are some new AMCARs being built, however, so Webster will see some stiff competition in 2015.

Also competing in double features are the EcoStocks, Legends and Bandoloes.

The main spectator gates at the Northeast Houston speed plant open at 5 pm while the NASCAR Stock Car racing gets underway promptly at 6 pm. The well-run program normally finishes by 10 pm.

Admission is $12 for adults, while children 12 and under are admitted without charge. Add the low admission price together with the $1 cokes, $1 hot dogs & $1 beer prices and you have an inexpensive, yet very exciting, night out for the whole family – NASCAR style!

Houston Motorsports Park is located at 11620 North Lake Houston Parkway in Northeast Houston.
