Drivers Prepare for Two Big Nights of Racing at Plymouth Speedway

By: Anita Soltis

(Plymouth, IN) The two biggest nights of racing arrive this week at the Playground of Power.

UMP Modified drivers from all over the nation are vying to be crowned the winner of the Lane Automotive 50 Race of Champions, presented by All Star Performance, Cometic Gasket, Inc., and JE Pistons with K1 Technologies.

The UMP Modified qualifying heats will run Friday night at 7:15 p.m. ET along with a 15-lap Bud Light Shootout with the Thunder Stock drivers. Last chance qualifying will be featured on Saturday prior to the main event. The 600 Sprint drivers will also race. Saturdays action starts at 7 p.m. ET.

NASCAR driver David Stremme has had Saturday night marked on his calendar since the Race of Champions was proposed in January.

The Race of Champions is going to feature some of the best UMP Modified drivers in the country. Its considered as a home track for me and the competition is going to be tough. I wouldnt miss it, said Stremme.

Stremme and his brother Bobby, along with Tri City Speedway UMP Champion Ray Walsh, will compete along with many others in this giant weekend of racing.

Bring the family and stay the weekend! Camping is free and kids meals are only $3.

A winning ticket will be drawn for a trailer proudly provided by Techworks Trailer Sales. Last chance tickets will be sold during the weekends races prior to the drawing. Tickets are $5 or 6 for $20.
