TimPeters Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 My dad was a very active midget and stock car driver in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana post WWII and into the late 50's. Dad and Tony Bettenhausen spent some time together racing the coastal states and into Texas in 48 and 49. Here is an article about dad racing at the Pan American speedway. Dad suffered burns in another race while in Texas and spent some sheet time in a hospital in San Antonio before getting sent home. Article and picture of the car he was driving. The picture of the girl in the car I think was from Pensacola, FL. Other picture of dad in a Fred Tomshe car in Indiana in 53 and dad winning in the Chicago Amphitheater against an all offy field in 51. Last time a V8-60 took a feature from what I am told. Dad passed away in 1997 but left us a lot of history and fantastic stories. Kelly Peters - Mick Naggy 4.pdf Kelly Peters & Chet Morris.pdf IMG.pdf Quote
